Wouldn't have been too much of a bad thing considering. Gotta say though, I sure hope The Black Major is getting a check from SSCs R&D cause the similarities are pretty much inarguable.

Yea.

The black sniper is pretty much AF's Hunter to me :dunno

Both of them will be really cool figures. I just want there to still be more announcements before the end of the year.

If this is what we were supposed to be super impressed with, I'm not.

I'd forgotten about Hunter! :rock I REALLY hope they have the stones to offer up Red Laser and/or Quarrel. Those two are my favorite AF figures, and are both different enough to be other characters.

Well last year closed out with the Sniper and the begining of this year they surprised us all with Flint.

I think the Officer will pop up before the year is out with Stalker or Shipwreck being offered around Toy Fair.

They made desert versions of Grunt and Clutch in 83 and 84.

And they both came with vehicles. They hadn't started re-purposing carded assortments with gimmicky repaints like Python Patrol i.e. Hasblo wasn't out of fresh ideas yet.

To me the biggest problem is the reused headsculpt. Cobra's aren't clones. We deserve new heads with each variant. I'll order, but likely cancel and reorder later for cheap/discounts otherwise.

Easy pass if that's the same ____ing headsculpt. I mean, ____, too lazy to sculpt new ____ing eyes?! Seriously?! :monkey1

And you'd have a point if we weren't talking about Cobra cannon fodder. :huh

Well, there's still Star Wars.

Too Funny.

Well, I think I am passing on this one. At least for now. I have to start being a little more picky and would rather spend the money on something else. I understand why SS does this. And I am fine with 5 or 6 releases a year. Just would like to see what Zartan, Destro and someothers would look like soon, even if the release is pretty far off.

Agreed. I can kind of understand the "palette swap" black for desert camo, and the added/different enviroment gear, but at least throw in a head with a different expression or something. Like even a proto sculpt that didn't make the first sniper...

I'm wondering though, if the first sniper was maybe a proto SS sculpt that was turned down.

But there was no resculpting done on Firelfy. Just an extra head with different paint. I can't recall when Sideshow actually revised a sculpt come to think of it. That is more HT's field that Sideshow's.

I submitted it to Ask Sideshow. Some of the spook questions seemed close to a year old. Hopefully we'll get an answer before it's released. :lol

Can't wait to see what company line they tow, if they respond at all.

I agree. Wouldnt be shocked at all if it doesn't pop up during the holiday celebration stuff next month. I agree with you as well on someone big Joe wise coming around early part of 2011.

Looking at the sculpt pics of the old sniper and this one it appears to be the same.
