How can Sideshow say they don't have any replacements when the Batmobile is STILL up for sale (pre-order) on their website?

Either they haven't updated it or they're not telling you all something.

At this point, given that similar issues have happened with the Tumbler (though seemingly not as bad), the Batpod and the Iron Monger, Sideshow needs to work with Hot Toys on developing an exchange plan for these larger scale figures and vehicles. While the damage is minor, scuffs on a high-end collectible at THIS cost are unacceptable and Sideshow should establish an exchange program with Hot Toys in order to get replacements with Hot Toys.

oh listen to mr bitter from bitter land.

seriously, chill out before you give yourself a migraine.

you really don't have to jump on all the posters here.

It's a legitimate concern. My Tron lightcycle came with defective LED lights. I had loose wiring on my Tumbler. I have read numerous other problems with Iron Man electronics. One member reported their '89 Batmobile had loose wiring on their headlights. And the list of QC issues goes on and on and on. At this point ANYTHING that can minimize damage is of paramount importance.

fair enough.

to be honest im happy with the condition mine is in, but..i haven't checked any of the electronics yet.

im just happy i didn't get any of the horrendous scratches others got.

When Hot Toys first released the Tumbler there were a lot of breakage issues you would think by now they would have learnt.

Its one of the reasons i will not sell the large vehicles any more.Between the high UK price, grey import market and possible damages its not worth the hassle.

I just hope they sort all these problems out before the 66 Batmobile is due out.

At the end of the day if your paying high end prices you should expect high end quality and service from Hot Toys and Sideshow.

can't enter for my friend but I picked up his on his behalf and was mint too. I ask Eric and he had 4 inspected so far and 4/4 were mint (incl my 2) so thats pretty good news and may not support the theory of stacking causing the damage

Hey all, for those that have this, does yours have like a body crease near the rear wings? Just before the slits start on the wings? I've seen it on other people's and mine has it, just want to be sure it's designed like that.

It's too bad that we can't enter for others because you and I would be chalking 8 more in the good column; that would swing those stats a few more points.

Got my package in last week from Sideshow, but was too scared to open it due to all the scratched batches. I finally had the courage to check it this morning. I only checked the problem areas some have talked about, but mine seems to have avoided those vertical scratches. Even the canopy itself only had a handful of the scratches on the plastic layer. I'll have a look over again tonight when the wife can help me lift it out of the box and have a more critical look and also check the lights.

i picked up mine today and saw 3 other batmobiles as they were opened and inspected at the store. all had the faint creases that you're talking about. they're most likely due to the separate molds that are used to manufacture the body of the car. the creases represent where the separate molds connect.

also, all 4 that i saw at the store had no damage on the canopy. none had any glue residue on the circular side windows. i'm convinced that the damage is occurring through mishandling during the delivery process. as far as the glue residue on some pieces, there might be just a few bad apples. or, some of the cases were exposed to high temperatures, causing the glue to melt and then reset around the bottom portion of the windows. maybe?

A couple of scratches and minor scuffs on the passengers side of the canopy. Flash makes them look worse. Some film ripped on the shield but nothing big there. Otherwise fantastic.

You poor guys with the discounts from SSC...I bought mine from BBTS and let's just say they were very generous with their discount :monkey3

Just got mine in today and I was expecting the worst. Fortunately I don't have any of the scratches and scuff marks on or around the canopy where most others seem to be getting them. However, I did get a small scuff right below the left headlamp. A bit of a bummer, but it's practically invisible.

Oh, and there was a loose tiny screw in the box. I have no idea where it came from or what it's for, but thankfully it didn't cause any damage to the car. Well at least not as far as I can tell. All in all I consider myself pretty lucky with this one. I haven't tried the lights yet so fingers crossed.

check the battery compartment, it might be the screw that holds it in place.
