Well, with all the controversy surrounding the PG-13 cut of Live Free or Die Hard, I find myself torn both ways. On the one hand, I hate the concept of censorship when it makes no sense. Much Like Aliens vs. Predator, how do you get a PG-13 movie from a hard R source? However, John McClain is a childhood hero and I just have to see him do the impossible again. So, I won't bother lying. I will be there opening day, and pray they release an unrated version in the future. And, even without the icicles in the cornea or non-stop cursing, I still think it will be entertaining. They released a 10 minute series of clips from the movie this week, and it still "feels" like Die Hard. However, I almost hope they cut any use of Yippee Kay Yeah ... it just won't be the same without the MF. Just listen to the TV cut of Die Harder (hint ... its in the thread's title).

Just so you know, he can say yippee kay yay mother****er even in a PG-13 film, to use your example, AVP, there was a use of **** in the film, it's probably relative to the ammount of times it's used or something. As for being PG-13, much like AVP, it's about box office numbers, not quality of film, so by opening it up to another tear of movie-goers, you increase your chances for higher box office return.

I believe you can get away with one F-word, no more, in a PG-13 rated movie.

As far as violence, what you can get away with in a PG-13 movie today and what you could get away with in an R when Die Hard was originally released is probably about the same.

I too am looking foward to it. More so than any other summer release. I love the original and "With a Vengence". Hated "Die Harder". Hope it's not an every other movie thing like the "Star Trek" series.

Who's up for a "Die Hard" 1/6 figure?

Only if Hot Toys makes it, needs to have their muscular body for him in the tank top as he was dressed for the majority of the film.

I've seen a lot of Die Harder haters :lol lately - what is that you guys hate about it? I loved that movie. It also was one of the few times in a movie when I didn't see the plot twist coming (the military crew working with the General). Sure, I was younger then, but it was still a cool swerve.

P.S. I also didn't realize that you could say F##k in a PG-13. But that just exemplifies the stupidity of our ratings system - if's its okay to say once, then what's the harm in multiple times?

"Yes, you can say F##K once ... but only once. Any more than that and you risk corruption of our children ... the horror! ... oh, and you can show some ****ies ... but for no more than 2 seconds ... they will have to wait to freeze frame those jubbles on DVD :monkey3 "

Can't remember who made it, but there was a great Die Hard with a Vengeance bootleg 1/6 out at one point. It's hard to find now though.

It was the City Hero line. I have one and it it really cool.

My main fear about this movie is the dreaded CGI Effects!

It's always a factor in movies made these days.

I hope it is kept to a minimum. I already hate the shot of the car flying over Bruce and his new sidekick. In my opinion CGI Effect have ruined a lot of what could have been good films. They just take me right out of the the plot and get me to thinking about the effect. I hope that shot is one of the few used in this film.

It's funny but miniatures and practical effects and stunts don't have the same effect on me!

I don't "hate" Die Hard 2. But the first and the third are hiest films, so that's kind of fun. The second one is about international terrorists or something? It just took itself a bit too seriously for me. I actually really dug the airport bits, but when it went outside in the snow and the chase, etc. it kind of lost me. Plus it didn't have an Alan Rickman or a Jeremy Irons as a fun bad guy in it.

It's points like that which make me optimistic about Rambo 4, it looks like a film that goes back to 80s/90s action film style, real guns, real explosions, classic wound effects, minimal to no CGI, and you know what, those films all rocked, and because they're made with practical effects, shots and stunts are almost totally bound to realistic occurrances and none of the rediculous close calls you see in flicks now.

They rocked because they were the first time we saw anything like that. Today they're lame because we've all seen it. Action sequences are like jokes. They only work until we've heard them once or twice.

The rediculous close calls you see in flicks now isn't because of CGI, it's because that's what the kids today find exciting. It's like a fashion thing and right now that's what's in style. Just like sprinting/driving/flying down hallways in slow motion just to out-run a fireball that flares out the opening just as our heroes clear it was all the rage in the 90s.

"We (Len Wiseman and I) both wanted to stay away from the CG aspects which would have been a real easy thing to do with a film like this – to try to compete with every other CG film that’s out this summer."

- Bruce Willis on CGI

Yeah, CGI WAS kept to a minimum, in fact they are proud of it.

More From Bruce...

"We always envisioned LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD as a straight-ahead action ride, that was true to the tone and character of the original but updated for today," adds Willis. "I can tell you we've more than met that goal. This isn't one of those films that is completely reliant on CG effects…I've done those films and there's nothing wrong with them, but in the spirit of Die Hard, the action had to be smashmouth, and I think we've more than accomplished our goal. You get real action and stunts. It's gritty and big, everything you'd expect and want in a Die Hard movie."

Now that's a real reason to yell YIPPEEEE KAY YEAH!!!!!!

Can't wait. Been a long time since I've seen a movie with real stunts done in the real world and not with the aid of dozens of CGI artists.

Thanks for the link pjam, but you guessed it. I am an "I'll wait for the movie" type. Especially a movie I've been waiting so long for. I'll be avoiding everything "Die Hard" for another week. Not even interested in advance reviews.

Although that link is sure tempting...

I beg to differ. That doesn't look like an HT Endo to me. It looks like a Sideshow Endo PF! If you look at the size of the base, you can see that it isn't a 12" figure base, it is a sculpted base, just like this one:

That's one expensive prop!
