some of the pleather on ANH Vader is starting to go

Yep! I just noticed that too when I was futzing my 3 Vaders. Mine is deteriorating around where the shoulder bells rub.

Trying to be a bit more cut-throat as I downsize some of my doubles. Not enough space and not quite enough difference on the shelf. Even Vader I'm debating just having one (doesn't help that some of the pleather on ANH Vader is starting to go).

The two main things I'd like to see improved on 3PO are the color and the way they do the lights for the eyes. Any other tweaks would be gravy.

Main thing for me would be a V.2 headsculpt, even though there's zero chance HT will do it. The head is slightly too small for the body, which then makes the eyes slightly too big for the head, and too close together (the Harry Potter glases effect this fig has for me.).

It's not a big problem by any stretch but it's the thing that makes me still feel the Tama is a slight notch better (in addition to the more OT feeling brighter gold of the Tama.) My Tama I'm using for a medal ceremony set-up where the color screams ANH.

To me keeping this 3PO is non-negotiable though because I love the ROTJ specific wires layout.

Oh ****. Well I guess it's been what 8 years since it shipped.

And for a $300 figure not sure anyone should expect it to last more than 8 years.

I had actually bought one, and still think it's a very good figure, but ultimately it didn't make the cut for me like R2 did. While they won't fix the head sculpt I think waiting may be a good call on your part.

They definitely won’t fix the headsculpt tho, the only thing they’d do if they made a ANH or ESB version would be giving it the movue specific differing paint job and the belly cross wires vs the vertical wires in ROTJ. They’d use the same mold for all the body plates and head.

Sounds like the flaking is either underway or about to get underway for many people.

How did people remove the black paper-thin rubber stuff that is positioned in the hip joints out of the box (I guess to stop rubbing/scratches)?

I finally got around to removing it (Leia Hoth's plastic neck wrap took me a year to remove) but it just seems to tear into little pieces and not come out as a whole section.

Do the 3PO legs pop off so you can remove that black paper/rubber, or do you just laboriously tear it out in little shreds?

Yeah mate. It sucks as people in the states were getting them about July last year. But not much we can do for now. Hope one pops up for you! (see what I did there...) once they hit

Not sure what is going on specifically with this figure and Popcultcha. I’ve received more recent figures from them, like She-Hulk. Did they maybe already receive early orders and are waiting for more stock to cover the later orders?

I preordered 11/23 so i dont think i would be on the tail end of when they closed it. But who knows?

Yeah you should have it by now. The distributor is still listing it for April last year.

I did a bit more research and the UPC is Sideshow’s, some but not all of their stock comes from SS.

And figure is waitlisted on SS but that shouldn’t affect PC’s incoming stock unless someone somewhere has stuffed up.

Thanks, yeah I plan to. Don't buy the battery suggestion though as they have Aotc 3po instock for ages and it's basically the same figure
