Hey all. I'm currently torn between choosing :

1. Hot Toys 1/6 Iron Man Mark III (Battle Damaged or not?) - I am most drawn to this design as it looks the sleekest among the 3 though I have doubts as to whether it would lose out to the Mark IV in terms of upgraded movement and extra details/articulations/props

2. Hot Toys 1/6 Iron Man Mark IV - Less appealing in terms of looks but it sure has more props and I take special notice on the flexible waist movement. I would definitely pose these figures to the fullest so I'm wondering if the previous Mark III would limit me as opposed to Mark IV.

3. Hot Toys 1/6 Iron Man Mark VI - Least appealing to me in terms of design. But feel free to correct me with any insights to this model which I may have missed.

I'm not really keen on breaking a back doing intensive research on each one so I was hoping any of vets could put in a good word as to which model would be best to get in a nutshell? What its advantages and extra stuff are over the other ones as well?

Thanks very much

Buy MKIV and MKVI, look them over, and whichever one you don't like...just resell and get your money back.

I chose the Mark IV, as to me, it seems to be an upgrade from the Mark III.

Besides, with the exception of the seconary market, can you even get a Mark III now? If so, your probably going to be paying a lot for it.

As for the Mark VI, I liked alot of features, but I like the look of the Mark IV better.

I may be parting with my Battle-Damaged Mark III after seeing in-hand photos of the Mark VI, so I suggest you get the Battle-Damaged Mark III :D

Kidding aside, the Mark VI seems to be the definitive Iron Man. Here's why:

1. It appears (at least based on prototype images) to have the best proportions of all the figures; Hot Toys continuously makes the figures anorexic and giraffe-necked, and the Mark VI seems to suck the least in this regard.

2. The Mark VI is going to hands-down give you the most display options. You can mix it up countless different ways, and he's got all of the weapons. Unless your one of those guys that puts a figure on a shelf in one pose and never touches it again (for shame), the Mark VI is the most bang for the buck.

3. The Mark VI is the only suit that stands a chance of carrying over to the next film; the III and IV are obsolete.

That said though, it's not fair to judge the appearance of the figures until they are actually released. The prototypes often look better than the final release, which usually have at least one or more glaring issues buyers have to decide if they can live with or not (Mark III BD's tiny torso, Black Widow's giraffe neck and stomach ****s, etc).

I have them all. If I had to pick one I'd go with the Mark VI. The look of it is probably the coolest of them all. It will also most likely be as was said the one we see in the next film and in the Avengers movie.

I was originally only going to purchase the mark IV, as the round arc reactor is my favorite look. However, the pics of the battle damage on the mark IV really impressed me, so I preordered that one too. I originally wanted to get mark I-III as well, but there are too many other figures I want, so those are not in my future unless I find a ridiculous deal somewhere down the road.

I think both the mark IV and VI are going to be amazing figures, so if you can't afford or don't want both just decide which color scheme you like best and go with that one. Simple enough, right?

Buy all three... and starve for the next few months. (Not a practical idea I know)

Mark VI for sure, battle damage looks awesome. Plus you can have it battle damaged or regular and it comes with the extra stand (damaged Navy drone surroundings) that no other HT Iron Man comes with.

I think the mark VI is the way to go if you just want one. Although some people don't like the triangle chest piece...

Thanks for the input guys.

The main reason why I chose the Mark III over the other 2 was because of the colour/design scheme of the lap area, where the Mark VI had too much of gold all around it whereas the Mark III had a nice mesh between red/gold. The Mark IV is a little similar but the Mark III colours still appeal to me more.

As for design flaws, is the Mark III glaring with any?

Was there ever a Hot Toys recall on the Mark III regarding any other defects? I recall seeing somewhere some customers trying to get a replacement for an Iron Man model but I wasn't sure which one.

virus777, if u have to get just one, i'd recommend the markVI.
as other members have pointed out, the proportions are better than previous versions. at least it looks that way from official pics.

personally, i'm going for markVI because i'm also getting war machine, and they'd look totally bada$$ when posed back-to-back. :rock
