dinosauria or terminator salvation?

And frankly it's about time we have a line of prehistoric life of this caliber. No company has consistently produced high quality statues, whether maquettes or dioramas, accurately and with so much attention to detail, depicting the gritty life or death struggle of a world red in tooth and claw. Nature isn't nearly as kind as what you see on television most of the time, with even the gruesome aspects relegated to brief snippets so as to be made palatable for public consumption. For instance, watching a zebra foal being eaten alive for the better part of an hour by a trio of hyenas is a humbling experience, particularly with the foal kicking and struggling for breath most of the time; seeing two Komodo dragons batter each others' flanks until one wins the territory dispute and the other is left to ignominiously slink away to less favorable ground where it will slowly weaken and starve to death over the coming month; these are the sorts of hardships that exist in nature daily, and dinosaurs lived the same challenges on an epic scale. In their effort to depict these animals realistically, SS has garnered my respect.

Dinosauria due to my own personal obsession with prehistoric fauna and because of the excellent artistic choices and outstanding eye to paleontological accuracy being taken by SS. It has the potential to be the most widely acclaimed line of collectibles for prehistoric life ever.

That being said, I will be collecting select pieces for Terminator: Salvation as well. I'm up in the air as to whether or not I should order a HT T-600, and placed my order for John Connor the instant it was possible.

It's really to your own preference, but I plan on being a completist for Dinosauria and grabbing the Terminator: Salvation figures that are sufficiently awesome. :rock

Scar, you have no idea how critical your "stamp of approval" has been for me, and perhaps others. There have been so many dinosaur toys and collectibles over the years, none of which go for 100% accuracy, that I was skeptical at first about Sideshow's true intentions. Your posts have fully convinced me that I'm in for the real deal. :rock

true that scar, your the man,n i know this lines gonna be as awesome as u think its gonna

cheers

If they drop the ball on any of these, I'll be the first to cry foul. That I assure you. :lol Still, what SS has been doing thus far has instilled me with an incredible amount of confidence. Glad to help in any way I can for people thinking whether or not to get into any of these pieces. :rock

If they drop the ball there will be alot of people crying foul. I know I will be. For the moment though I'm going to put my faith in Sideshow.

Same here. They've only let me down once before. Only once out of, dear God, how many times have I purchased from them now?... I too will keep my faith that they will follow through as they do 99% of the time for me.:chew

What concerns me isn't so much stuff I have as stuff I've seen. But like I said, I'm gonna put my faith in Sideshow that these will be awesome.

Glad you're getting into reading about prehistoric life (and that you enjoyed Raptor Red)! Whether fiction or scholarly journals, there's always something to learn and find fascinating. :banana

Has been a while, but the tv spots I saw tonight have me leaning towards the T-700 more and more than the T-600, awesome though it is.

now that the moie out and isnt exactly as mind blowin as we'd all thought it would be,what do u guys think?? is the salvation line worth investing in,or should i concentrate on the dino's now/?

yeah true that, also based on the trex vs triceratops dio thats out,the sculpt and paint apps seem prettty awesome,im pretty confident about the quality of the dinosauria line

I would say go with the dinosauria line - it's very well done and I can't wait to see the next dinos in this line, boy I wish they make a killer velociraptor

I'd be more excited to see a Utahraptor, or a pack of them! :rock

now that salvation has bombed,i think im gonna have re assess which direction to head in.....i think its gonna be the dinos all the wayyy!!!!!

so now with salvation failing to click n ending up being rather meh.....i think its fair to say the dinosauria line(especially with a very promising start with the first dio)is the way to go
