I saw this today with my wife and daughter. What a great movie! Easily one of Disney's best.

It's getting a lot of positive feedback and it's making $$$. It won't make it over here until Febuary and they will probaly only show the danish dubbed sucky version :monkey4 So far, it's happened to Despicable Me and Megamind. I know they're not Disney but i wouldnt be surprised if they started doing it more with Animated movies. I guess i can live with it but if they start messing with my yearly Pixar fix, i will cuss them up so bad, not even CSI, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, Bones and SVU can figure out what happened :lecture

If they didn't dub them, you wouldn't understand them. :lol:lol:lol:lol

Just kidding. :1-1:

Just got back. Definitely the best (non Pixar) Disney animated film in ages! It was wonderful to leave the theater loving it instead of wishing that I loved it (sorry, Princess and the Frog).

I've just been reading about the inspiration and process behind the film. Glen Keane and the animation team were going for a painterly, hand-drawn look to the CG images. I think they got it, or at least got as close as you can. Some shots are absolutely beautiful. We almost skipped it in the theater - glad we didn't!

watched it on friday. overall, it was a fairly entertaining flick and i agree that it's easily the best disney film in a while. i loved the vibrant colours and the rich details. very pretty!

the humour worked quite well, but most of the comedy came from the non-speaking characters, the horse maximus and the chameleon pascal. in fact, i'd go so far as to say they were more memorable than the main characters. rapunzel and ryder, while likeable and charming in their own right, are somewhat unremarkable.

and the story kinda lost focus in the 3rd act. i think it's mainly due to the weak villain. she just didn't have the sense of menace and purpose of other great disney villains like the lion king's scar or aladdin's jafar. also, the songs weren't very outstanding. i couldn't really remember any of the melodies after leaving the theatre.

if u have kids, especially daughters, this is a great movie to bring them to. they'll love it. the kids in the cinema where i watched it sure had a great time. :)

I'm excited to go see it. I just have to find a girl to go with. It's very uncomfotrable being a 20 something year old guy in a room full of children with their mothers. Usually it's no problem because I'll just go with my girlfriend, but as I'm currently single... :lol

Just wear a long trench, shorts and flip flops. No noisy kids or big haired moms within ten seats, guaranteed. :yess:

You are in the 20s??? I always imagined you quite older for your comments...maybe 30s or 40s )

IMO it is admirable when a person has no prejudices to go to the cinema alone, without caring for the movie he/she is going to see...what people might think of him/herself...so...go and enjoy it!!!

I agre it is always better to go with a female partner though

Funny enough, the movie that made me realize it was okay to go to the movies alone was The Lion King. I was supposed to meet a friend at the theater. I arrived late but I saw his car in the parking lot. I couldn't find him in the dark theater so I just took a seat. Ever since then I have no problem going alone. Which is very convenient since there is a theater a few blocks from my house and my wife has no interest in horror movies.

:lol I'm an old soul.

You could always take a pad and pen with you in the movies and people will think you're a critic or something.

I've gone to movies quite a few times by myself. I don't mind it. I have such different tastes in movies than my friends. I don't care for chick flicks.

Have heard nothing but good things from friends. Watching it in a few hours with my fiance. We're pretty pumped for this.
