OLED TV:

They have 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, each pixel lights itself (no backlighting), and it can have 4 times the resolution per inch compared to other TV's.

How much is that set?

Well, Sony currently has a 11" OLED for $2,500 so it will be years before they will be affordable for a larger size TV.

Could you please tell me the Model, Size, and does it have 120hz?

It is a Samsung LCD 52 something something 550 and I went with the 60 hz. Couldn't see a difference between the 120 and 60 except for the price.

I got mine at CC on sale for $1599.99. Best Buy has them on close out for $1649.99. My moms boyfriend bought one immediately. LOL!

Some nice pics guys and have to agree most people i have spoken to turn off the "Frame Interpolation" as it makes the picture look to unrealistic.

Think it will be quite a while before OLED are available and even longer for them to be affordable to the everyday punter. The Panasonic i am currently waiting for has a contrast ratio of a 1,000,000 to 1 so nothing new there.

Someone should create a sticky thread for any members wanting to show pics of their HT systems.

So it's that time again and was wondering where to get good deals on televisions online? Is Amazon probably my best bet or should I just stick to in store?

I don't buy things like that online just in case there's something wrong with it. I don't want to have to deal with shipping it back.

I thought that I've read that Amazon is the best for buying there types of things online. Even from a customer service standpoint.

It might be, but I don't want to ship back a 50 or 60" tv set if there's a problem with it.

Yeah. I just go with Best Buy personally. And I always like Best Buy's bundling of stuff. Nothing wrong with a Playstation 3 tossed in to sweeten the deal. I just bought my 2d 50" plasma last year for $1600 I believe, and already the price is down to like $1200 lol. Thats ok. The next time I buy a tv the 50" 3D tvs will be like $1200.

I have a Panasonic Viera and I love it.

I'd go with Best Buy or Amazon. Amazon will probably be better, but I might lean towards Best Buy because if you have problems you can just load it up and go to the store.

Yeah, I got mine at Best Buy as well. If you have a Best Buy card, you can't go wrong with some of their no interest for 3/4 years financing deals unless you are paying cash or plan on paying your credit card bill off right away. So even if they are a little more expensive you aren't paying any additional interest, just budget it out to make sure you pay it off in time. Some Best Buy's will also do a little price matching if you can get a reasonable department manager. I got one to price match my 400 disk blu ray changer with Amazon's price. I saved myself $200 and still got the no interest financing for a year and Reward Points to boot.

Amazon has the best deals and depending where you live, you may not have to pay shipping at Amazon. I believe if there is a problem, they com and pick it up from your house.
