The other day I had some guests come over and a couple of them had their hands all over my premium formats. When I turned around one guy was being really rough with them lifting them up and turning them upside down like a dumb gorilla and some lady kept touching Thor with her long ass finger nails and was making a scratching motion which made me worry she was going to scratch the paint off. I don't know WHY she was doing that. I almost lost all my hair when I saw these two; but, I kept my composure and said nicely to 'be careful because they're expensive' and they just looked at me like I was the biggest jerk who just punched them in the gut. The thing is I don't go to someones house and put my hands all over peoples stuff no matter if it's cheap or expensive. Next time I'll get a glass case or a sign saying "Do not touch or your dead". Have any of you had people come over and just disrespect your collectibles like that?

I have to restrain some very real homicidal tendencies under those circumstances, and the only thing I've experienced was someone tentatively touching the face of my Captain America. If I'd been in your situation, I'd have come a bit unglued, I'm afraid. Your "friends" had no right to be offended. They were out of line, and showed no sense of decorum. What they showed was a complete lack of respect for your property. These aren't toys that we collect. They don't come with a kung-fu grip. I would think it would be obvious just by looking at them. But apparently, that's not the case with these people.

By way of example, if someone gives you a tour of his garage, then turns to converse with someone else, would you jump on his Harley and pretend to be racing through a canyon somewhere? No. At least, I hope not. And if you would, stay the hell out of my garage. :lol

Was this at your house or do you display them at your business or something like that?

If I had people like that picking up all of my PF's (without my permission, which they would never have anyway because I'm the only one who can do that! :D), I'd have a lot of issues with that.

AND MESSING WITH THOR IS A BIG "NO NO"! :duh

Fortunately for me, that never happens, because everyone I know is already aware that if they are stupid enough to touch my collectibles, I'll break their fingers.

OK, seriously, whenever I have a guest over who acts like they might think about touching something, I make it clear that these aren't toys, they are delicate collectibles, so please, look, but DON'T TOUCH.

So no, not a problem for me. :D

My friends and family knows how I am with my collectibles and respects it...my wife in the other hand is a different story. But I see where your coming from, I get really annoyed when people leans on my car or put things on it.

No one touches my collection. NO ONE. If they even breathe in the direction of my statues I will unleash hell. :D

no...........i do not freak out.....as i do not own any PF's...........but when my t2-arnold arrives (my first)..........i intend to have a ruler handy to rap the knuckles of any grubby fingered people that want to paw him............including small children.....:lecture.

Monk is right.

I think that everyone has a story about touchers--heres mine:

Recently I brought my Hulk out from storage (again) to display. My Girlfriend's friend was over and she went right for the Hulk and was almost about to touch him. This is when I looked at my GF, who then intercepted her friend and explained Hulks "value" to me.

The above is put into context because of the below story, which happened before the Hulk incident.

A few months ago I caught my girlfriend trying to "clean" my collection and I went insane (not in the domestic abuse kinda way, more in the Jerry Seinfeld angry kinda way).

Oh hell no, not the HULK. Man, I would've lost it :devil. I don't know why people want to put their grubby hands over other peoples stuff without permission. When I go to a friends house and see something awesome I just say "Hey that's very cool". I don't go pawing it like a mad man. Even if it's something I'm not into I still don't disrespect their stuff because I know it's valuable to them. I just don't know why people who are not into collectibles feel they can just treat these PF's like it was a cheap $4.00 toy from 7-11. No class at all.

Simlar story, but not with collectibles. A couple I know had the mother in law over. This couple had just purchased a large and expensive LCD TV. The MIL kept taking her fingernails and scratching the screen, commenting on how realistic the picture looked. The wife, not related to MIL, finally told MIL not to touch the screen as it could be scratched. The MIL was offended then.

I have most of my stuff behind glass, except for Thor and Hulk. If I had anyone over that had kids, I would immediately tell the parents the statues are not for touching, and put up a kid gate to keep the kids in the non-collectible area of the house. I also tell anyone that sees the stuff that these are worth $ and aren't meant to be touched/handled, just viewed. If anyone thinks I'm rude for saying this, I pretty don't care.

:rock I like the way you think. To the point.

Interesting subject.. My neighbor pried his way into my mancave last week..

He then went ahead and was touching and picking everything up.. I finally couldnt stand it anymore as he was touching Venom's toungue and said look but dont touch..

This is why no one but me is allowed in my secret room..

OH HELL NO! Last time this happened my friends girlfriend was putting her hands all over my 1:1 Alien Warrior bust. Even reading about stuff like this makes me want to stop taking my meds and unleash some Bi-Polar ass whooping!

I don't know why some women have to touch stuff with their finger nails and then proceed to scratch it. Man that pisses me off. Also the mother-in-law has no business touching a TV screen anyways. She can scratch it or get prints all over it which is a pain in the butt to clean off. Some people are weird because no matter how polite you are they still get offended by what you say. Cant people just keep their hands to themselves and just look and not touch. Geez:horse

Anyone who knows me knows that I care for my collectibles more than I care for their friendship and act accordingly. I have never had to ask someone, or tell someone, not to touch anything in my collection.

Yah, like being at a gentle mens club.

The very first thing I tell people when they walk into my room is 'Do Not Touch the Collectibles', looking is fine by me, but touching is not tolerated. If someone asks to hold something and I can trust them then I will allow them to hold it with my supervision, but I don't like people touching my ^^^^ without asking.

I had a friend of my wifes ask me if it was okay if he touched my Darkness bust, as asked him if it was ok if I touch his wifes breasts. He just stared at me, then walked away.
