Yah, like being at a gentle mens club.
That's exactly where I was going with that. Treat those collectibles like it was a strangers booty and breasts. Look but do not touch.

I had a friend of my wifes ask me if it was okay if he touched my Darkness bust, as asked him if it was ok if I touch his wifes breasts. He just stared at me, then walked away.

I've never had any one touch any of my collectibles. My little cousin's (8 and 12) have had friends over and shown them my collection and even their friends knew better than to touch. What's up with adults no knowing better? Well if I saw someone about to touch something I would say something before they got their hands on it if I had time.
I wouldn't say children are necessarily more respectful, just more fearful of punishment.
Adults are generally jackasses and oblivious to anyone other than themselves.
I've never had a problem with people touching my collection, but I've had more than a few people think it's okay to grab a book off one of my bookshelves and start pawing through it like it was an old newspaper. It drives me up a wall.
That would bother me more than my collectibles. I'm freakish about my books. My classmates always teased me because after I finished reading them they still look brand new. They would even ask before they would pick up a book I was reading to read the back. And then it was funny to watch them hold it as if it were very valuable and extremely fragile.
I cringe everytime I see someone folding a book over and breaking its spine.
Hey Batty, is it okay of I paw you the next time I am over?

I approve this above statement...
That's the way I am. Not so much about paperbacks, but I have a nice collection of old books, first editions, signed editions and a huge collection of art books. I'm pretty sure I've put more money into my book collection than my other collectibles over the years.
Sounds like a pretty nice library Batty. I don't go for signed editions or first editions so much, I love leather bound books though. However one time I came across a signed first edition book by Freud and if I could have swung it I totally would buy it.
My room has a lock. :maul
