I had a friend of my wifes ask me if it was okay if he touched my Darkness bust, as asked him if it was ok if I touch his wifes breasts. He just stared at me, then walked away.

words to live by............:lecture

btw.........how big were they?.....:monkey3

I've never had any one touch any of my collectibles. My little cousin's (8 and 12) have had friends over and shown them my collection and even their friends knew better than to touch. What's up with adults no knowing better? Well if I saw someone about to touch something I would say something before they got their hands on it if I had time.

Your right. I noticed the kids are a little more respectful with this stuff. My nieces and nephews know better. Adults on the other hand just walk right in and say "Oh what do you got there" and without permission start touching my collection like it was a cheap toy from a cracker jack box. My sisters are the worst, they have to touch every thing they see. Even my mom gets pissed at them when they go to her house. Adults sometimes need to learn from children.

I wouldnt say children are necessarily more respectful, just more fearful of punishment.

Adults are generally jackasses and oblivious to anyone other than themselves.

I've never had a problem with people touching my collection, but I've had more than a few people think it's okay to grab a book off one of my bookshelves and start pawing through it like it was an old newspaper. It drives me up a wall.

That would bother me more than my collectibles. I'm freakish about my books. My classmates always teased me because after I finished reading them they still look brand new. They would even ask before they would pick up a book I was reading to read the back. And then it was funny to watch them hold it as if it were very valuable and extremely fragile. :lol

I cringe everytime I see someone folding a book over and breaking its spine.

That's the way I am. Not so much about paperbacks, but I have a nice collection of old books, first editions, signed editions and a huge collection of art books. I'm pretty sure I've put more money into my book collection than my other collectibles over the years.

Hey Batty, is it okay of I paw you the next time I am over?

Yeah, but could you at least bring the beer this time?

Sounds like a pretty nice library Batty. I don't go for signed editions or first editions so much, I love leather bound books though. However one time I came across a signed first edition book by Freud and if I could have swung it I totally would buy it.

Thanks. I've been collecting books since I was a kid. One of my prized possessions is a 1883 illustrated edition of "The Raven". I do not have that out for anyone to pick up. :lol

My room has a lock. :maul

Good man... I need that.

My biggest gripe is when people come over and start handling my CUSTOMER'S things. They pick up the unpainted figures like they are $2 Hasbro toys and put their greasy fingers on unfinished paintjobs. I end up spending a lot of time steering people away from my room when they visit.

Luckily my collection creeps most people out, so they stay away voluntarily. :devil

I can only imagine that you're friends thought they were toys, although how you could think Thor is a toy is beyond me. I've never had the problem though. I even had my Moore PF at work and everyone thought it was cool but no one tried to pick it up. The worst thing that happened was a co-worker told me she had one of those too and preceded to describe her large-sized Dean Martin bobblehead.

I once had a girlfriend of my picking out some dvd's to borrow and she saw the Dark Lord Sauron statue from Sideshow Weta and without hesitation she put her fingers around his outstretched hand and tried to find out if it could bent.

It took a lot of restrain from myself to say very coolly. "Please don't thought it because it's highly breakable and pretty damm expensive."

She was cool with it fortunately and never touched one again when coming over to borrow some movies.
