Do we need a seperate LotR figure forum?

Hi Everyone,

I think they should stay the same. Many people read the title of the thread anyway to see if that interests them to read or reply to it. LOTR is LOTR. 12", PF, Poly, Bronze, UC, Weta, Toybiz. If you love it, you love it. IMHO.

If we ARE to keep everthing under ONE thread, people need to stop making divisive comments like this one. Even if it is meant in jest, it's still insulting to a VAST number of Sideshow Collectors.

It's strange to me that the polystone collectors adopt this pretentous and elitist attitude. We are after all talking about pieces of "art" that are produced by the THOUSANDS! Like 12" figures, they are just product and isn't any more special. It's just different.

Please respect your fellow collectors... whatever they decide to collect.

The SS/Weta line is dead, Jim.

With just a handful of pieces left to ship, there's not going to be any new poly-blood to invigorate the forum. We'll be left with the "I just got a _____ statue!" and the usual "congrats" responses.

At least the PF and 12" lines will keep this forum alive with new topics.

Well yes, but hopefully there'll be a great thread here and there of someone telling how they managed to snag a Balrog for a bargain etc, and more photos of their collections, like me when I (hopefully!) complete the statue/bust/environment/ line with the wiki, cave troll and balrog! And maybe the helms....then why not the plaques....and weapon sets......and medallions......art prints.....? Gandalf bronze???!!!! Oh, that one will be when I win the lottery and buy a house to actually display all of that in!

So no new unannounced pieces are coming but there are still pieces coming. Not to mention people will be buying these things for as long as they are out there. So dropping the Weta part is silly IMO.

I think the response is overwhelming for one LotR section. Therefore it is a good idea to drop the defunct Weta from the title. LotR says it all. I don't want to see LotR/Weta/Toy Biz/DiD/Topps etc. No need for it any longer.

I vote for one forum for all the LOTR stuff. I do agree with dropping the Weta from the title though, as IMO, at this point it's redundant.

Agreed, the statues are still Sideshow LOTR, so still relevant and can still be discussed. Why would other things such as Toybiz, Kong, Narnia etc be discussed here? This is a Sideshow website and those things are'nt Sideshow!
But already I can sense the PF and 12" lines are starting to overwhelm the Weta. There have been lots of new members in this forum since the announcement and I can feel the Weta side being pushed out, especially because many Weta collectors don't post here anymore
