There are at least 3 companies making Romans and Gladiators - and the threads are all over the place. Should we make a subforum for Old-timey, unlicensed characters?

I ask because I was looking for a thread on the CMToys Gladiator coach and there doesn't seem to be one. Yet there are gladiator and roman threads in Military and General.

The more sub-forums the better for everyone. Benefits people who like the subject matter by collecting it into 1 place. Benefits people who don't like the subject matter by excluding it from where they want to visit.

I can see where it would be helpful for folks trying to navigate through this section. All that stuff fits the historical/military section, but somehow it doesn't mesh well with the abundance of WWI/WWII/Modern stuff. All the samurai and medieval topics should technically be in here as well (if they're not already). Maybe have the main forum for military and then the sub-forum be for historical. Given figures like Patton, Ike, Churchill etc. are historical figures they all lend themselves more to the military side in terms of who makes them and who collects them.

Of course if we're going to talk sub-forums I think it should at least be brought up that there are those whom have expressed interest in one for Customs much like the SW section. I know its been discussed before and the response was that the traffic down here didn't warrant one; which is pretty hard to argue against. There's not a lot of traffic down.

That said I just went through the first five pages of this forum and there are no less than 43 custom-related threads. Many of them don't have the "Custom" heading so it can be hard to tell, but they are there. And that's not including the handful that were moved a couple months back, or the two Flosi locked for me.

Personally I don't care either way as I'll continue to do what we've all been doing. But I figured while we had your attention I might as well ask.

The problem is if you get rid of the Roman style threads and the custom threads, in 6 months Dave is going to be asking if we need to **** down this forum due to lack of posts. just sayin... :peace

too many other threads to scroll through in order to find the gi joe related(Custom or not) threads on this board....so yes...and a separate joe or custom section too...while you are at it..please?

The gi joe having its own seems more relevant, true military covers modern and ancient, it was actually my first thought when I found the military thread, why is gi joe in here?

That's because:
A- The search feature here sucks, use Google search with "site:www.sideshowcollectors.com" to find what you're looking for.
B- Snakey Jones and I didn't create a new thread when we first posted about it here. post 53 & 96 here: https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102797

Creating a new sub forum won't fix your issue anyway when companies like Kaustic Plastic and to a lesser extent ACI post historical threads in the wrong forum to begin with:

:rolleyes2

Two from ACI in the wrong thread:

↑The more forums and sub forums, the more confusing it gets.↑

One thing is for sure, don't follow Riddick's advice and put a Historical Military sub in the General Collectibles Action Figure forum when it belongs in the Military forum.
Also should you go that way, a dedicated GI Joe sub forum shouldn't be relocated away from the military one since they share so much in common.

Well Joe's dead, so we don't need a separate Joe section.

Customs might be warranted though.

Joes not dead, there are four figures currently on pre-order!
GI Joe/Military/Historical is totally dominated by GI Joe threads already...
