Do you buy just one of each figure or buy two or more for each figure? For example, I remember hearing about a guy who bought 5+ hot toys endos and I frequently hear people buying doubles of the same figure on this board. Why doubles of same product?

I have never bought a double... although I am tempted to buy another Stormtrooper but thats all.

I only buy one because that's all I can afford. Some buy extras to sell off once the item sells out and some buy an extra one for customizing.

I've just started collecting, but already 2 of each Hot Toys Joker for me. Done pre-ordered 2 of the first version Joker and trying to pre-order a second Bank Robber Joker. Open one and keep the other in the box. I guess cause I'm just such a Joker fan as I've only pre-ordered 1 of the Bats and Iron.

With the Sideshow and higher end collectibles I definitely buy only one. I don't have the cash for doubles. However back in the day when I used to collect Hasbro Star Wars I'd buy more than one, especially ones I knew other collectors would want to get (like variants and different clone/storm troopers). We'd helped each other out and it was great fun.
It was easier with Hasbro since they were ~5 bucks a piece as opposed to 90+ dollars for the 1/6 figures now.

Well I have 2 endos but ones the regular and ones the BD. I'd love to see 5 of them together! I have quite a few mcFarlane endos - at least 9 I can see from where I'm sitting now - by the time I found the NECA one anywhere I'd moved on to 1/6th scale and theres no going back so didn't bother army building that.

I couldn't possibly justify army building hot toys stuff though. Perhaps if I had the self-discipline to limit myself to just Terminator or just AvP but I collect too many different lines.

The first single figure release I'm intending to double up on is the original suit Batman. Its such a cool figure, I fear an accident happening and the rubber being torn or scratched, I'd like to have a back-up. But mainly because I know I'm going to want to put batman inside the Tumbler and I don't want to hide my only original suit Batman like that.

I find though that with every Hot toys figure I get I immediately wish I had 2. This can fade. I remember I used to want 3 endos, 2 supermans and about 3 aliens warriors. I settled for 2 endos, 1 Supes (cancelled an order for a 2nd one recently) and 1 Aliens warrior (realising how inaccurate the latter is put me off buying more). Also Hot toys just keep announcing new things I want, seemingly month upon month, so that makes it harder still to order more than 1 of anything.

1 except for the Stormtroopers, I am getting 3 of them. 2 for Vader and 1 for an action pose of some sort. Also I open all my dollies.

just 1, although i've been considering getting another stormtrooper to pose 1 on each of vaders sides.

Just one, only buy 2 from the figures in blister that I like more, never boxes.

i only collect my absolute favorite characters in the 1/6 scale so I can afford to buy doubles since I have a long wait time between products (except this year since HT is releasing TDK and IM figures in the same time period). I buy doubles just in case my first one gets damaged and I like seeing my figures in a sealed box. I dont see myself selling my back up ever.

Never buy multiples... don't see the point personally. Except for the SSC Stormtrooper, I'll eventually have 2 of them. But that's really Vader's fault :lol

I buy what I want.

If I want two, then damn the torpedos, I'll buy two.

To answer your real question, yes, I'll buy two Jokers if I really want the superior headsculpt.

New to the game so I just buy one of each, plus it cost damn too much. But if a different version comes out I probably will get it. Such as V1 and V2 HT Joker, BB and TDK Batman, Wolf Predator and Ex. Wolf Cleaner Predator. You get the point. Still justifying Mark II and Mark III Iron Man.

Back in the early days of 1/6th collecting, it wasn't that big a deal to buy an extra $30-$45 Dragon or Cy Girl figure.

These days, I only buy multiples of the 3.75" figures (usually Joe or Star Wars troopers) when I want like it. Where 1/6th figures are normally in the $60-$200 range, I can't afford multiples. At most, I get one for myself and that's it.

yeah with these $100+ figures, it is hard to buy multiples. all i can say is when i hear about someone buying like 5 of the same figure, i cant help but wonder if there is a better way to spend $400+ than to watch the same 4 boxed figures lying on the ground.
