Do you buy just one or multiples of each figure?

I have never bought a double... although I am tempted to buy another Stormtrooper but thats all.

Yeah just one. Stortroopers may be one of the rare exceptions just because the nature of the character - an army builder. But really only 2 for me unless there are some amazing deals later on.

2 if i really like the collectible.. I've ordered 2 of all the figures from the dk line.. except the pod and tumbler:lol one piece for each of those is more than enough I usually keep one to be displayed and one to keep mib.

I can't imagine someone buying two tumblers. Whoever does that has a serious addiction problem to figures. A serious problem.

I only by doubles of certain figures (mainly Star Wars) if they're rare and I want one to keep carded and one for display or for customizing etc. I also have several armybuilders of various Imperial Troops. But useually I only need one.

I am of course talking about Hasbro figures. I couldn't afford multiples of HT figures. Hell I don't even own an HT figure at the moment unfortunantly.

I usually buy only one. In the cases I buy two it's usually because the difference in one versus the other is cool enough I'd like to see both at the same time, like an Iron Man with helmet on and one without in another pose.

The doubles I've bought I am now trying to sell, at my original cost. It just doesn't seem worth it in hind sight. But if I paid say $65 for something, and then I find a deal on a lot sale on Ebay where each figure comes out to be $20 or $25, I'll pick up the lot and try to recover my original cost by selling off the doubles. that I already had from the lot.

Unless the figure is something VERY special, no point in buying doubles. TRUST me, you will run out of space before you know it.

I think we all realise how addictive this hobby has become...despite the ridiculously high price points, we still have to have the 'next' new release. I mean; i bought the HT Joker and was reasonably happy (likeness not withstanding) and was happy to pass on V2...until i saw the pics. Now, despite a chronic lack of money, i have to have it...same with the Dog Alien.
Getting back to the point, i get the impression people who get multiples of the same figure take this addiction to a new level; bordering on OCD! I guess i just don't understand this need to have a display figure with another identical one boxed away...or a figure masked with gun, and another unmasked etc etc...

My interests are pretty varied so I don't have enough room to buy more then one version of a particulair character although I am gonna get 4 Stormtroopers and another Aragorn to customize into a Amon Hen version, but that's about it. I am also only gonna buy the Mark 3 Iron Man, no 1 and 2 for me.

I never buy doubles of anything (mainly due to my limited budget) but I have to make an exception for the Joker......I'm speechless :monkey5

I've never bought multiples but the one I'm considering to buy two of will be
the HT Predator 1 fig, when it eventually gets released.
HURRY THE F$@# UP HOTTOYS!!!!!!!

I never buy more than 1 unless i use it for a custom.I have 3 Rambo 2,3 Rambo 3,2 Rambo 1,2 Rocky 3,all of them are being used.I dont think i have any figures in boxes packed away.

Its all personal preference. If you like to preserve your pieces, people usually buy two (one to display and one to keep in the box) Some people also buy extras just to flip, but those tend to be pretty wealthy when they can afford to buy a couple $300 PF's! Overall, I'd just buy one and treat it like GOLD so it stay in mint condition and retains the value :D

It depends on the figure and its purpose. I can see getting 5 Endos if you're doing a future John Connor thing. I have 4 Space Precinct figures, 1 for Brogan, the rest to expand the cast. I have multiple LJN "V" figures, each to be a different visitor. As anyone that knows me on the board might imagine I have a plethora of SS Planet of the Apes figures. Tons of double "nude" Dragon, BBI and Eversparkle figures just for bashing and customizing. Dupes of various Hasbro stormtroopers and Jedi, GI Joes, Action Man, etc....
So, yeah, I can see getting doubles.

Its mostly one each for me due to space and budget constraints. The only exception so far for me was the Medicom EPIII Clone Trooper. I have 3 of those mainly because I intend to re-paint 2 of them, one into an Orange Clone and another into a Red Shock Trooper.

The only other figure for which I have 2 on pre-order is the SS Stormtrooper. One is the Regular Version and one is the Exclusive Version. I am not selling either of the Stormtrooper because Vader definitely won't allow me to sell them! ;)

If I really like the character or figure then I'll buy two of them just to have one mint and unopened and then one for display, just in case somethn happens to the displayed one. I've never really bought anything with the idea of flipping, everything I buy i decide to keep honestly, unless someone knows that I have somethn and is practically begging me for the piece then I might work something out knowing I could get another would have to be a possibility...

I did buy mutiple Stormies as well for the Vader... Maybe GI JOE B.A.T.S if I can find those damn things, plus they are cheap so it's a no brainer on that one!

Simple answer? Depends really. For big fans of certain characters, some may want to to keep one mint and one to open. It all depends on if you are making income and want to spend it on such things. Since I pretty much only like Batman products, I can justify multiple purchases because I don't buy Iron Man or Star Wars etc.
