Good poll. With all the HD talk around here, I was a bit surprised by how many people said they were buying 300 on Bluray...so I'm interest to see who has what.

I'm trying to decide between the two higher formats. I'm regular DVD for now. :monkey2

Blu Ray for me. the only way I'd switch to HD-DVD is if they all out win the format war and im forced to switch.

I'm still on the DVD tip... I have an HD TV and all the stuff that goes along with it. I just have no idea which format will come out on top, if any so I'm biding my time until its more clear.

But from what I understand the Blu-ray is the better way to go... but I'll watch from the sidelines for now.

beta max baby!!!

but seriously... i'm waiting to see who wins the format war. i don't want to happen what happened with beta and vhs. beta was clearly the better format and yet VHS won out.

it's clear that blu ray is better, but that doesn't mean anything - what matters is what format is being used. last thing i want to do is spend the money purchasing a new player and new media only to have to switch to the other format on me. knowing me and Murphy, it'll happen!

but i want to know by december since the blade runner 5-disc briefcase edition is coming out and i would love to own that in an HD format!!

HD-DVD because it has more features than Blu-ray in this case plus it's multi format and works on standard DVD as well.

I didn't vote because I support both formats and there was no option for that.

But when it comes to 300, I definitely went for the HD DVD because of the additional bonus materials and features exclusive to that format vs. Blu-ray. When given a choice by Warner or Paramount or Dreamworks, I always choose HD DVD.

Still mainly DVD.

But I just bought a PS3, so I'll be getting into BR.

I need to get me a 1080p TV though, should be doing that in about a month or so.

Agreed 100%.

Yep, I have both BD and HD-DVD, and to me, prices be damned . . .it's all about who has the best content. When released together, I look at which one has the most and best content. So far, HD-DVD is winning that war. Have to hand it to BD for having more scratch-resistant discs.

Same here.

I started with a Tosh HD, but just recently picked up a Samsung BR. I have to admit that I love the Samsung much more and am using BR more than HD now. Of course that may be more to do with the player than the actual format differences.
