I used to always get the exclusive...now ill only get it if I know ill display the ex parts...i. e. Judge Dredd, Vampirella, Deadpool (coolest ex in a while IMO)......nowadays I pray for crappy exclusives so I can buy the reg at a huge discount from my lcs.

Meh. The shiny gold sticker is of no use to me. Very rarely is it something I'll actually display. Even must-haves like Superman's Kryptonite "necklace" have just wound up in the box.

Of course, for some people there is always a need to compensate for lack of something else :lol

Yeah, I get buying EX's because they are better than the reg release or if they are the same price and available, but some boast about ex without a care for the product itself. They are in it for the kudos they think it affords rather than a love of the statue.

Preference for me. I don't like the Sagat EX short's colour so I opted for the regular.

Order the new Batman PF EX only 2000 made!!!! .......ok?

When I first started collecting, I didn't care which one I got. As time went on, I really was sad I didn't have that extra item that others had. After 3 non ex pf's, I stopped with regulars for the most part unless the deals I got were insane. Getting my Black Dress Buffy for $230 shipped and my Red Skull for $135 (picked up) were two very good deals I couldn't pass up.

To me it depend on the situation. I will always go after the EX first because of the extra stuff. If I am too late and my wait list never converted, I may just go after non ex depending on how much people are charging for the EX version on Ebay or some other places. If the price is high and it comes with some head or accessory I JUST GOT TO HAVE then I will pull the trigger. The extra head is what usually get me because if the EX comes with a head that I REALLY like but is meh about the non EX head. Then I have to pay the price =/

I caught that before you edited it out...I even took a snap shot... :naughty

Kind of a no Brain-er because PF's are usually the same price when they come up for PO.So why not get the EX if you can.

You know, there is a big world outside US, a lot of collectors from all around the globe, most of which would have to pay big $ to get an Ex from SS. Intelegi ce vreau sa spun? ;)

Shhh, they don't like hearing that.

I'm something of a completist, and I'll always go for an EX. before a regular, but I'm not going to dwell on it if I miss out.

If Sideshow's ploy is to be noted of late, they make the Reg the better choice, and the EX is for those who think they're getting the better deal (case in point: R2/D2 PF, or the new Conan dio).

Usually the EX offers something above and beyond the Reg for the same price, and I usually go that route. There have been exceptions however where the Reg is better in presentation, and getting it via an LCS works out cheaper.
