Do you want Kojima to make more MGS games?

Personally, I'd like for Kojima to retain creative control over the franchise, for as long as MGS games are being made. After all, there's no telling how another director will interpret the series, or how their vision might affect core aspects of any future games. Not to say that it's not happening with Kojima already, since he seems to be interested in restarting the series from scratch. But, it could be a lot worse with someone else at the creative helm.

But, Kojima really needs to take a break from MGS and focus on something else. A new ZOE game was long overdue, but he decided to can it, because KojiPro has been so busy with MGS that they probably never had a chance of finishing ZOE in the first place.

MGS has lost it's luster years ago. ZOE would be the way to go and leave MGS to recover hype again. From what was shown of ZOE3 it looked like it would of been a earth shattering Mech game... :crying

I do feel sympathetic for Kojima on this matter, because I think it was beyond his control. I think he needs justification from the fans to make another ZOE game, so he can tell Konami to STFU and move away from MGS for a while.

Kojima seemed very enthused about ZOE a few years ago, when KojiPro started teasing the pictures, and especially when he and Shinkawa were working on the Revoltech figures. Not to mention the somewhat ill-fated HD Collection that was released last year with that massive Shinkawa art book. It's just a shame that the fun ended like this.

I'd still love to see this one of these days :monkey2

Ughhh how I wanted to see that thing in action. I think the concept was a prequel and they were to be more organic looking.

I am a little confused by the poll options. Is the first option implying the MGS games would stop being developed if Kojima stopped making them himself? I understood the question to poll to be whether he should be involved or not, not whether or not MGS titles should stop being developed.

Anyway, I voted he remain as a producer. MGS is clearly his baby, but it does seems like he is loosing some perspective. That isn't to say he should never have complete control again, but perhaps it would be best to let someone else direct a few titles before taking the reins again.

I enjoyed MGS4, but for me, this franchise has always been about gameplay, memorable characters, and overall style/mood. Storyline in MGS1 was pretty good, and 3 was OK, but beyond that they just went bat**** crazy. But even in the good one the humor is weird, you have over the top moments (like Psycho Mantis and the spider-guy from MGS 3) and the melodrama is frequently thick in the air (like Snake's relationship with the chick you call on the radio in MGS1, and Sniper Wolf). If I wanted compelling storytelling I wouldn't go to this franchise to begin with.

That is too awesome for words. "Stomping a mud hole in him!"

I admit, I think that's the problem that I've been having. Maybe I shouldn't look at MGS for good storytelling, but instead for its gameplay, cinematic work and the characters.

Nevertheless though, it's still a massive disappointment that we may never see another ZOE game for the foreseeable future.

That's certainly not what I meant, given the other choices that I listed :lol. Unfortunately, the poll didn't allow me to post detailed questions that exceeded a 100 word count, so I had to re-edit all of my original questions for brevity. The simple answer: Just take question 1 as "Yes" if you find it confusing. I should probably make mention of this on the opening post.

It's way too young of a series (in terms of incarnations) to be axed.

I don't care for ZoE, never played it, all I want are the MG remakes THEN I can let him go, but if he was to leave creative control to someone else, I would rather that he just dropped the MGS series altogether.

All I want after MGSV is the remakes.

Good discussion. I always thought of MGR as the chance for Kojima to move into another series, with another gameplay and stuff. But it was attached with the MG brand so it still felt kinda forced, imo -dont get me wrong is a good game-.
I do believe that Kojima should have enough ***** to create a brand new series.
