"Doctor Who" Patrick Troughton head by Warriors Gate Productions

Hey all! I am very pleased to be showing off the first of two Doctor Who Patrick Troughton 1:6 heads from Sean Dabbs of Warriors Gate Productions, available now. The two expressions were chosen in the Doctor Who group here on the forums:

Hey Gang,

I'm the sculptor - Sean Dabbs. Thanks for your kind comments - and I have taken on board other comments (from a previous thread) and have amended the sculpt (good call by WST regarding the nose and mouth wrinkles)

I want everybody to be happy with this piece, so if anybody has any other suggestions just let me know

Thanks!

Sean

All I have to say is I am amazed at how fast you turned this sculpt out. And have to give a big :hi5: to WST for finding such a talented artist.
And the fact that you are willing to work with us on developing wicked likenesses, priceless.

Sean,
BRILLIANT work on the modelling especially considering the speed in which you've completed it.

I hope the 2nd expression that was discussed still happens as it would be a great alternative option.

One question I have is does any of the detail from the modelling get lost in the transition to the physical sculpt?

Thanks again for your kind words, the details will be printed at a resolution of 0.016mm (so any details less than 0.016mm won't be picked up) so the detail is pretty good!!

Here is a pic of a commission I completed a little while ago (a portrait of Mozart) the head measures just 25mm tall (half the amount of a 1/6 scale head) and came out with all of the details (even the tiny cross pattern on the coat, and the pattern on his frill came out strong)

Ha ha! You could! I think the Omen was the first movie I ever saw a Doctor in another role as a kid and it was hard to wrap my head around. :)

So a 1:6 scaled head could potentially be scaled down to fit the Character Options figures?

Not that there's anything wrong with their Troughton sculpt but I'm just thinking ahead to other possible characters.

Yes - your absolutely right. That is the beauty of digital printing - he could conceivably be printed out at any size (even small enough to fit on top of a doctor who microverse fig!! (not sure how much detail would come out though) or even a full size Troughton :D (this would actually cost a fortune to print though)

I was thinking of creating a bust for him and printing him out minibust size (like the gentle giant range) , although I'm not sure how much interest there would be.

Heps sdabbs, great work here!
Can you tell me where you print this buddy? :)

Awesome! If a future sculpt commission was for a Classic era companion I could see there being some intrest in both scales as CO seem to be steering clear of those characters.

Nice update too!, Pat version 1 is looking excellent!

Thanks bcm77!!

I'll have some pics of Pat 2 (scared expression) coming soon!!
