Cool story, witty dialogue, and some interesting 'monsters'...really enjoyed the first ep.

Looks like Capaldi is going to be a great Doctor :rock

:exactly: :goodpost: Really enjoyed last night's episodetoo and thought Capaldi was excellent as the Doctor. Can't wait for next week's episode! :)

Capaldi was great. He had lots of the doctors mannerisms but it came from a very grumpy fellow haha. I thought for sure when the Scottish came out that he would make some reference to being a ginger or not but it was great nonetheless.

Capaldi brought elements of Pertwee and a touch of Hartnell as he settled into episode.

Having watched the first 5 episodes of Peter Capaldi's Doctor, I am sadly underwhelmed. I think Stephen Moffat's time as showrunner has gone the way of JNT. They should change producers the same time they change Doctors to bring new creative energy to the series. Capaldi is ok but he lacks the gusto and charisma of Smith and Tennant and the scripts are boring and bland.

Not sure how you can make that call based those terrible WIP versions. I could only stand to watch the first 20 minutes of the leaked Deep Breath before I had to turn it off. But I quite enjoyed the finished product.

WIP doesn't bother me at all. It's just pre-viz FX. I watched Deep Breath months ago, and even enjoyed it. The problem is the stories. Moffat's writing has turned bland and boring. I really think it's time for a new showrunner to bring in some fresh ideas. The stories for Capaldi's first half bored me immensely.

I enjoyed Capaldi's performance in Deep Breath once he was allowed to shed the post regeneration Smith-isms, but I did find the plot to the story itself utterly forgettable. As much as I enjoy Strax's antics, I think the Vastra/Jenny/Strax trio is played out at this point. Just make Strax a companion.

Yup I am so over the Three Stooges antics and Strax and the Sontarans being reduced to comic relief cannon fodder.

I still love the Paternoster Gang. I'd watch a spin-off. I think this might be one of the best series debuts we've had. I liked that it went a bit slower, and was more character driven. The 12/Clara scenes were so good.

Another interesting ep this week, although the story was a little meh.

I'm intrigued by the little 'heaven' bits spliced into these eps; looking forward to seeing what that storyline leads to. Oh, and Capaldi is still great.

Pretty good episode last night; like they are giving clara a bit of a life and potential love interest; is this guy gonna be rory part 2 in the sense of being a second, concurrent companion?

I thought it was ok. Basically just another take on the 9th Doctor episode "Dalek." The one real standout of the new season so far has been Clara. Jenna Coleman has really settled into that character nicely.

Boy, people must have really hated those new Daleks. They went back to the old style in a hurry.

A decent episode more through Capaldi and Clara having to carry the thing somewhat though, pretty average story but they were both great I really am liking what Capaldi is doing with the character even after only 2 episodes his protrayal for me is light years ahead of Smiths attempt.

I am really enjoying the new Doctor! Moffat and co seem to really be sticking to their guns that this incarnation will not be likeable or nice. I'm especially loving the more adversarial relationship between him and Clara, besides the fun banter it gives her a more vital role as her arguments with him give her a platform to better give the character a sense of individuality. Also I know this is an episode too late but I love "attack eyebrows":

Best line of the year and should be the official subtitle for this Doctor's tenure. I'm totally gonna make myself a custom t-shirt here out of this image, Capaldi's eyebrows are worthy of a fandom of their own.

I thought ep 2 started to die midway through but then Capaldi brought it back to life with a great finish. Capaldi may have many other Doctors little mannerisms but he's certainly his own Doctor.

Now if only they would go back to the original Mondasian Cybermen instead of the hydraulic Robocop wannabees they are now.

There's been speculation that this series will see the Doctor go up against
another Timelord
, ive not seen any mention here so who could it be?
