I think it is awesome.

What is even more awesomer is that the USA is still the only country to put a man on the moon :rock

Or did they?

I'm in the camp that says they did. If this county can believe in a invisble man living in the sky then we can for sure believe we landed on da moon.

It doesn't bother me since it literally matters in zero way now, and it wouldn't suprise me that we would have done whatever to win the cold war.

But having said that, what exactly is so unbelieveable about going to the moon? We have a space station people live in. It's not like the technology isn't there or were claiming we saw Elvis while we were there. We got some rocks. I've seen all the tv studio stuff, and been to cape canaveral but I just don't get the conspiracy theorists on this one.

I think I'd be more prone to be convinced some BS from the 9-11 nuts before you could convince me we never landed on the moon.

Theres so much technology we don't even know exists right now, stuff we'll see over the next 20 years being released being tested in some lab somewhere, its just not that mind boggling.

No one disputes that we've sent/routinely send humans into space. Just like no one disputes that we've had/routinely have unmanned missions to other planets/satellites in our galaxy. But those things are completely different than a manned mission to the Moon.

But even with that advancement in our technology we still haven't figured out how to travel any faster in space. And that's the problem we have when it comes to manned missions and space exploration. The same stuff NASA used in the 60's is the same stuff NASA would use today, and that's just not feasible especially for interstellar travel, but just in general it's not even feasible for interplanetary travel.

Absolutely, but what is the leap from building and sustaining a space station, and simply going a bit further out. O2 and Food? Fuel? What is it that makes it impossible in your opinion?

The hardest thing about it all imo, is the landing and taking back off, but I've seen the lunar landers in person at Cape Canaveral and understand how they work, and personally, I believe it.

We have upgraded from Rockets to a Space Shuttle, which can hook upto other shuttlers or stations in space and transport etc. But yes the propulsion of it is the same premise. Launching a rocket/shuttle on earth is definately a difficult challenge, but with gravity on the moon being what it is, I believe the lunar landers are definately feasable for "interplanetarty travel".

Fair enough but all thats needed is more room for fuel, o2 and food. And obviously the correct calculations for course etc.

The helicopter I learned to fly on couldn't make it from New Jersey to New York, unless of course we attached the second fuel tank.
