Both are still wearing their ‘coats’ at the end of Fellowship, as they do in most major scenes of that movie.

They leave Amon Hen with them, then ditch them in TTT after crossing Emyn Muil, before being captured by Faramir.

Since all three movies were filmed together and costume test images were all available before the first movie released, I wouldn’t take an image used to promote FOTR as being indicative of a look primarily associated with that movie alone.

Although every character adds layers or removes items of clothing depending on the climate of the region they’re traversing, the image of Frodo and Sam both without their jackets/coats, dirtied, and wearing the Elven cloaks is far more associable with The Two Towers and Return of The King than FOTR.
In fact, I don’t believe there’s a single scene of them jacketless with the Elven cloak in FOTR- although I’m always happy to be reminded of any moment in LOTR.

TLDR: No, I’m right. :giggle:
Yeah you love being right.

Now that you mention it, I can see that they’re wearing them in the promo image they used, so yes, they should bring those traveling coats as well (in addition to the Shire cloaks).

I just hope WēTā/INART includes everything relevant that appears in Fellowship of the Ring (2001).

Or do I dislike other people being wrong…

So far, hasn’t every InArt LOTR figure been missing something preventing the from being an all encompassing FOTR representation?

Unless I’m confused with The Hobbit, Gandalf wears two different cloaks; one hooded and one without a hood, Aragon should have come with his Ranger cloak as standard, and Legolas is missing his Mirkwood weaponry.

So far, InArt aren’t really setting a precedent for covering every look from the movie with a single figure.

You’re not wrong. Ultimately they do leave a bit to be desired with what they give us for the prices. Legolas not having the Mirkwood bow was egregious…

Yes! The most egregious is Legolas’ missing bow and quiver! It means every time he is display next to Gandalf it will be wrong at least to someone who knows the films like I do. At least if they gave him the bow it would be passable. I am not sure how many casual fans would notice and in all honesty I probably would never change the quiver for fear of damaging it.

Looks like we have that in common lolll…

And admittedly, I’m not super well versed with LOTR designs, so I’ll gladly admit when I’m wrong and am willing to learn.

Aragorn did bring the Ranger cloak but they made it a direct to store exclusive (which we disagree how we feel about that lol), but completely omitting Legolas’s Mirkwood bow and quiver is egregiously wrong on their part. Because it’s missing, accurately speaking, current Legolas doesn’t even pair with current Gandalf the Grey figure. Same situation if Frodo and Sam don’t bring their Shire cloaks and traveling coats.

INART/Wētā need to ensure they cover all looks as seen in FOTR, imo.

At least InArt have time to hear our cries and act on them with Frodo and Sam unlike with the others where they’d already set the prices and put up POs before we got a look at what was and wasn’t included.

So, as Aragorn would say, there is always hope.

No intention of collecting LOTR figs but man just seeing these come to fruition in high quality figure form is awesome.

Oddly, I may have to get Gimli. Just because. I feel like they would lock him behind some extra expensive nonsense tho. Prolly looking too deep into it.

That one figure is.. Not it. And I ain't talking about the Wizard.
