Just wondering if any freaks here enjoy tossing a line in the water? I have been going to smith lake around here and doing some dock fishing. I usually go at night and drop a light in the water while I'm fishing. It help attract bait fish which in turn attracts the striper.
Anyone else fish?

you should go sometime, you might like it.
Tomorrow I'm taking some rattle traps and going for some small mouth. Weather has been crazy lately so they're probably going to be real finicky.

Thought I was on your ignore?

Anyway, done it before. I don't eat fish and wouldn't eat them even if I did. So it's a waste of time to hook the animal just toss it back.

been thinking about going for years now.

Just found out my co-worker lives in a yatch and her husband is gone for 1 month so she invited me to go fishing. This is a sign!!!! :rock

Anyone have any suggestion as to what fishing pole to buy for beginners? I want it to be able to fight off a 15 lb fish.

Nope I took you off because I'd like to just get along with everyone and sometimes you guys post some funny ass ____ I like to read.
But I hear ya. Fishing isn't for everyone but it is definitely not the worst hobby.

Just get something that will last you like an abu garcia reel on a ugly stick pole. Also use a spinning rod don't start off with a bait caster or you will squirrels nest it everytime.

Not as much as I did when I was a kid. Dad used to take us fishing every couple of weeks. Now that we don't live at home the only time I go fishing is when I go deep sea fishing on a charter boat with some friends. This is much more entertaining for me as we always catch something.

<--------professional bass fisherman/liar...........:lecture........(or am i?).......:cuckoo:

Went fishing once. Caught a 20lb bass. Got so excited I pooped in the boat. Never went fishing again.

True Story :lecture

sounds like a jeff foxworthy joke.

"if you've ever pooped your pants fishing...........you might be a redneck"

I caught a 40 lb yellow fin tuna in Mexico once. That thing was a struggle to reel in...but I did it! :yess: The fish was almost as big as I was tall.

Never been fishing again....but I do like to eat 'em.

:nono I don't believe it. We need to see pics! :lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

It's true! I do have a pic somewhere - though where I don't know...but I'll look around. That was before the days of digital cameras so I have a buttload of pics to look through since I am bad at organizing them. :lol

Are you sure it wasn't a Mexican?

Well I found it! I'm better organized than I thought! :lol But I have to scan it in - and I have to go to work now...so tomorrow I'll post it.

I do have to admit that my memory is a little foggy - The fish is about 2/3 my size...I thought it was bigger. Guess the stories about fishermen are true. :lol
