Thanks BadMoon, can you please be sure to post on the forum 24/7 then get defensive when asked if you have a job?

Partly, I mean I'd like a Swordmasters Collection Weta Sting, but $9k+ just isn't an option.

Stuff like that aside, lack of space is having much more of an impact now. So it's more a question of do I really want this item to use up what space I have left.

I think being poor helps me collect creatively as I build a few figures then sell them and move on. It keeps figure collecting/bashing fresh for me (so far, since i am relatively new).

Yes, and no. I can buy the stuff I want, the money is there. However, there is that part of me that says... ' do you really need this?' ...I never use cc to buy stuff. Well, technically I do but I pay it right away.
Good post and exactly my point of view. If anything, space is a bigger issue than money even though my living room is lined with display cases and Detolfs.

I have cut way back simply because I have no faith in Sideshow's QC and I haven't been happy with many of their artistic choices. :monkey1

No, not really, I have donated my arms and legs to science for ca$h...

You may now refer to me as Mat, or Bob (when I am in the water.)

Money....Space....Dust. Not spacedust---- space, and dust. Space as in physical dimensions. Ahh, whatever, you all get my drift. But mostly money!

I use karamazov80's credit cards for everything. His kids can deal with the consequences later.

:rotfl :rotfl

My wisdom teeeth had to be pulled so that they wouldn't impact my face. True story. However, I keep neither money nor my collection in my mouth, so I don't see how the question is relevant.

:lol :goodpost:

______

For me, yes it does. Partly because i'm earning less recently and partly because the value of things doesn't match the cost for me anymore.

For instance i'd love to get the Iron Patriot figure, i've got a ton of RW points to use but i just can't pull the trigger.

$300+ for a figure with no accessories, no functions (swap-out BD parts or flaps or missiles ect) and that isn't even the best it could be (the cannon plugs in and out rather than slides like it should). That's bad value compared to past similiar figures and better value current ones like the DX13 which comes with a ton of stuff.

Rather than money, it's perceived value that's impacted my collecting. Pricing on Hulk and the new IM figures are hard for me to justify. But I would gladly pay Rainman prices for the right figure and accessories package.

I won't use credit cards to buy anything to do with this hobby. If I haven't got the cash in my account I can't have it until I do. I used to use credit cards but I can't be trusted when it comes to things I want :lol

Yes, and no. I can buy the stuff I want, the money is there. However, there is that part of me that says... ' do you really need this?' So I tell myself I can't afford it and I move on. If I find myself still pining for the item, I will go back and buy it.

That is some excellent self control. :lol
