I heard a few years ago that the rights to this show were difficult to get. However, as it is produced by Universal, who has a good relationship with Marvel since they released both Hulk features, would this fall under the blanket of Hot Toys' Marvel movie license? I don't consider this a wish list thread since I am genuinely curious if this license is included in Hot Toys' deal.

Fans have been asking for a quality 1/6th scale Hulk from the recent film. While it seems more likely for one to be released with THE AVENGERS line, it would be nice to have something to whet our appetite in the mean time.

The 1978 series starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno is an iconic show, and for many ranks up there with Reeve's Superman and Keaton's Batman, as a classic portrayal of a comic hero. A David Banner/Hulk box set would be very practical and cost effective. The Hulk could simply be an Arnold body with thicker arms, painted green with a Ferrigno sculpt, while Banner would be a simply dressed slim body with two sculpts: normal, and angry with green eyes. I'd easily drop 300 for the set.

Sure it may not be realistic now, but look how long people were begging for a Reeve Superman before Hot Toys finally made it happen.

Why/how would a TV show fall under a movie license?

That is like asking why there is no Adam West Batman because HT has the Batman movie license.

Live-action and there were TV movies produced. That's why I was wondering. Same reason why Sideshow produced figures from the Highlander films and series. I figure it came part of the same deal.

Sideshow doesn't have an all-inclusive license for anything, they have to negotiate them all which is why we get license announcements for the majority. They may get them in bulk like HT where they announce X-Men, Blade and Spidey under the same announcement but it isn't a master deal of sorts. I seriously doubt they have Bixby just like I doubt they have the Amazing Spider-Man 70s show but it doesn't mean that they couldn't get it.

I didn't think Sideshow had anything, but I thought I read Hot Toys has the master license to do figures from any Marvel movie. I could have been mistaken. But you're probably right. If the rights to the show aren't already included, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to get them. Since Ferrigno practically lives off royalties to the show, I can imagine he'd be willing to work out a deal for his likeness.
