You're a real modern day Robin Hood!! :lol :lol :lol I don't know how it works for software...but I will say that for musicians - copying does hurt...especially if you are a new band just getting started at a label....low CD sales and you'll likely be dropped. Most musicians make the majority of their money from touring....but the greater your album sales the more $$ you can be guaranteed for shows. The ones who can really get the shaft from copying are those just starting out and trying to make a name for themselves....sales are crucial. My two cents....and I'm guilty of copying as well so I'm not preaching here. :D

Actually, it doesn't make much of a difference. For the most part if people can't download something for free then they aren't going to buy it either. And especially for music it doesn't do anything for the musicians, the music company they work for gets all of the money from lawsuits.

Well if you don't think it does anything to the musicians...you should speak to the ones I know...they would beg to differ. :lol Frankly I could give a rat's ass about the labels ....it's the struggling musicians who I care about and if you want to make it big (which usually requires a major label) then the bottom line is always sales. Most labels only care about the sales figures....not so much the talent and therefor if you decide to play their game you play by the devil's rules.

Most new music I buy is stuff I heard from the radio...then I'll check out the band's website and either buy individual tracks or the whole album.

I really feel sorry for the little guys in music too. Especially that Lars guy from Metallica. Those guys need to catch a break.:lol
