Doom isn't overrated. He goes for the price he deserves. The Weta Balrog goes for way more but you don't hear anyone naysaying that one- or how about the Alien 1:1 bust or the Predator lifesize bust, those go for around 2.5k or higher. I hope Doom fetches more bling in the near future. :D

I'm not saying that this is overrated, AT ALL. It's an amazing piece. One of the best. And I think he deserves about $1000-$1400. But edging upwards towards $2K is getting kinda ridiculous.... I guess from a buyers standpoint :eek:

I've had and sold the Original Balrog and at one point they were going for $4000+ but personally speaking as much as I love LOTR I think the Doom PF is so perfect, its almost regal looking.
While I dont really think the 2 can be compared as they are so different I agree in principle, the Weta Balrog was the pinnacle of their line, imo the Doom PF is in the SS Marvel line, so far anyway.

I hope it fetches more too, not that I plan on selling but its always nice to hear one of your items has increased.

yeah, if someone did on purpose. also they could of ran it up themselves, and then the runner up always gets the old, second chance offer because bidder is unable to pay reason. i wonder how often that works. sure sometimes it legit, but i always have the feeling that if that bidder wasn't against me i would of bought it for alot less.

out of all the stuff i have bought of ebay, it's only happen to me a handfull of times. everytime (except once) i have explained to the seller that i would of bought it for less if it wasn't for the skipped bidder, and everyone of them have never offered any off, so i passed on every second chance offer. the one time that i did get anything the seller said that he would sell it to me for the last live bid that i had without the runner ups bid, it worked out good, i think i got about $100 off of a poster and i believe he free shipped it also.

:confused::confused::confused:

slow down man. Take a breath between speed typing.

Some of us are slower than others...

Man that is a sad story, did anyone really figure out what happened with that guy, he said that he only paid or won the auction for like $1,000 and then on Aug 20th it goes for almost $2,000... Is that the correct story!?!?!?

yeah that's about it, though i'm not to sure if everything was on the up and up. you just never know now-a-days who you can believe anymore. especially when e-bay is involved.:banghead:duh

When was the actual date that he won the auction? I was thinking maybe the seller didn't want to sell it for $1,000 and then didn't ship and hence the relisting for a winning auction of close to $2,000...
