Well 1 1/2 finals down, 2 1/2 to go. Sadly Im pretty sure I bombed my spanish final. Summer classes here i come!

What level of Spanish are you in? I'm just curious; Spanish Teaching is one of my majors and some of mine were pretty rough, though I managed to milk an A out (only by the sheer grace and mercy of my teacher

Its second lvl but the amount of course work is rediculous. We had homework that would take upwards of 3 to 4 hours to finish but only counts for 10% of the final grade. The tests were HUGE chunks, we got 3 of them and they were no where near easy or medium for that matter. Penn State is insane.

It's my experience that Spanish in the US is more Mexican leaning than anything else. And they are more focused on just getting you by then actually teaching much.

True, and that's a real problem. When I teach I make sure my kids can actually communicate and not just memorize vocab. Plus I always try to expose them to other accents too; since my family is South American I might sometimes favor an Andean accent, but I love other accents too; I've mastered a bunch of them and kids love hearing more than just the stereotypical Spanish accents. It's a great major!

So this will make you all laugh. I have a Fin303 Honors class that is taken all online. So for most respectible students, I started my final 6 chapters this week. So as I am taking the tests, the site freezes and the test submits when I'm about 60% done with the test, giving me a 60% on the test. I shake my head, thinking that I got all As on the previous tests, so I can take a bad hit. So I go on to do the next 2 tests and the same thing happens. I talk to the online customer service representative and he can't find a reason why it's happening. Meanwhile, my teacher is also waiting to hear back from them. All this, and the tests are due on Friday. I'm starting to freak out and get extremly angry.......
Holy crap Conger! That really sucks! I hope it all works out for; it would really suck if you got a failing grade because of a computer malfuntion.:emperor

Luckily I didn't hit anybody, they probably would have thrown me out of the school. I was just SO frustrated over this. That's terrible! I really hope the teacher gives you a break on that. I've had the system crash during finals before too and the teacher let me make it up in other ways, so I managed to get by and still get an A. I'm sure it'll work out; how can they fail you if the computer system crashes? That's just not right.
