Like said, I haven't got it yet....reg or ex!
Don't even waste your time on the regular...seriously it's not a complete grail without the chalice

Just say you bought a reg and take it. There's no way someone would sell an EX that far below market value

The term "grail" is so overuse here. IMO, no mass produce statues are "grail". It's only what you make of it to even remotely have value.

Granted that word is overused to a blood pulp...but there is only one grail in the marvel world and this is it...i am telling you from experience my fellow Vancouver-ite...that you are better off not getting a regular, and just save for the EX...i know its a huge jump between the two in price...but there is a very good reason to why that is...why is Doom looking to the left???? Because he is supposed to be looking at his Chailce....have you seen that snake with his tongue sticking out at you wrapped around the EX...its the best, you will regret not buying the EX...I say that to you because i have seen your marvelous collection...but go ahead and plunk down 1650 for the reg...and see as the years go by how incomplete it is...this is the EX of EX's...dont do it J...just save some more and then buy it...its not like the seller is gonna sell his EX anytime soon...

Then why is his hands position that way? The position of his hands is that he is thinking about something. IMO, if his looking at the Chalice, is he then needing to think about it? Kind of odd if you tell me.
I don't know, maybe he's think should he take a drink. Maybe it's poisoned, or maybe he's getting a ideal for a new plan of attack and it involves wine or something. Maybe he's just coming to the end of a sinister plan and rubbing his hands in a sinister way. There's endless possibilities of ways to explain why his hands are they way they are.
I'll need to see it in person before spending $900 to $1000 more on getting the Ex. IMO, the ex is not as significant as the (comic) Captain America PF. Is that small extra piece really worth that kind of money or is it better to spend on getting several statues such as Skaar, Joker & or Batman PF (in which I can buy 2 to 3 more statues with)?

Yes just like you think the Cap PF EX is important, any owners of the Doom PF EX will say the same...including myself...and I paid more than retail too so i feel your pain...I didn't have to pay as much as you because I got mine a couple years back when the EX was selling for around 1300-1400 bucks and the reg was going for around 900...one look at the EX and i knew, pay the extra and you will be happier in the long run.First off you can't compare what you can potentially buy from saving a grand and just getting the reg...it's apples and oranges,by that theory a lot of collectors can say they could of got this or that with the money they'd save...I could of bought lots of statues if I didn't have to pay secondary market prices for them so i try not focus on that...if you want something and you have to pay more than retail no matter how much it is...that's just the nature of the beast,so you shouldn't think like that...ya it's a small little piece with a so called cup on it....but again there is a reason why that little piece sells for more than a couple statues combined. And please leave Skaar out of this...he is just a joke, half the ppl who have him P.O are buying him for all the wrong reasons, cause he's big,or comes with cool accesories,or he's the son of Hulk...give me a break! I get why u said Joker PF or Batman PF...but the son of a super hero...come on J...you are a vet in this hobby. What marvel charcters kid is next then...lol...but back to Doom...I know a lot of ppl who have wished the bought an EX instead of the reg...even on the secondary market...even Matt from toytraders.I won't keep on telling you to go for the EX after this...but just go look on statue forum in the SS section, look for the CW gallery restaurant in korea thread...and see how many top notch statues that guy has in his collection all glassed up in his display cases...but one...just one statue sits alone from all of them in the open...on the other side of the restaurant...and it is the one I speak of...and that's saying something cause that's guy has all the marvel statues everyone wants...the King sits alone my friend and he needs his chalice...and yes I know the situation with you and the forum,I only use that place as a reference so please don't be mad.Good luck with your decision...p.s the Colorado Avalanche suck

Do I know you Monty? How do you know I like the Aves? Regardless the Canucks still suck! How many cups does the Aves have to the Nucks? I didn't know I was a veteran collector Yah, I like Doom EX and I know I could had gotten him several times but I had other priorities such as getting the Grey Hulk PF (paid of $2k) and my Soulfire Graces (matching pairs which I paid over $1700 for). Doom is the last sought after piece I want. This is now a question is it a necessary to get the ex? I'll need to see it in person to invest in that kind of money because IMO, the maximum value has already peaked.
