Yeah that's just like the Terminator with a T-shirt and no leather jacket.:monkey4

I don't see it that way. The scenes of Zaius in the cave and on the beach (where he wears his Forbidden Zone riding gear) are among Zaius's most iconic moments in the first film. So... if Sideshow were looking for a scene, a memorable scene, to pose their PF, wouldn't he be sporting this outfit?

But gotta remember... this is the forbidden zone look. Therefore no vest, but you get the cool base and doll.

Yeah, GB... you gotta love that base and doll. :monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

Yeah got find a way to get cheap. At least put the right outfit and charge an extra 30 bucks or something.:monkey4

I really don't blame Sideshow for going this route on the costume. They are totally going blind into this PF line. They are probably fairly nervous about sales. They did the same thing with the first Buffy PF. They clothed her in a fairly cheap to produce black leotard-like outfit (one that she only wore in promo shots and not actually on the show itself) to curb the costs.

I understand your beef with the PF not wearing his signature robes, I get that. However, if this decision results in more POTA PFs being made (or anything else POTA that Sideshow decides to make) I'm fine with it.

But I know I'm in the miniority... I loved everything Zaius wore so I was going to be please either way they went.

Vest, jacket, ... what ever, what ever. The DOLL is the best thing about this PF. Besides, my love goes out to the beautiful Nova - Linda Harrison - anyway.

Wow... Dr. Zaius ex is still for sale.. long run. Will not be sold for for the next two weeks... I think.. ;)

Summary doesn't say it.

"The Dr. Zaius Premium Format figure is a stunning 1:4 scale museum quality piece. Each piece is cast in high-quality polystone, then hand-painted and hand-finished to exacting standards. The figure is dressed in an amazing miniature replica of the costume, constructed of real fabrics and leathers, and the base is individually hand-numbered for authenticity. This stunning figure is the ultimate representation of Dr. Zaius, an outstanding addition to any collection."

What do you mean? Can you not tell this is a version of Zaius from the Forbidden Zone? I'd think the doll was a dead giveaway :lol

Have to agree though that the notch in the jacket is wrong... It would be a good idea to contact Sideshow, they've made other changes in the past maybe this one could be caught early enough to fix.

The doll is only a $10 upgrade. While I balk at the $300 price tag, the premium format being an ape with an amazing sculpt is a necessary evil for my ape addiction. I just left a comment on the Sideshow Toy website, hoping that the doll will have both legs intact as it was for the 1968 movie...

I just relooked at the pictures, and you can't even see the legs (or I couldn't) so how do we know that both legs aren't intact?

Hoping both legs to this doll are intact because the doll that came with the 12 inch apes is missing both feet and one leg is shorter than the other. I just don't want to be surprised, is all...
