Re: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER [May 3, 2011]

No prob! :rock

Games Radar has a nice preview. Nothing exactly new, but it brings up the non-linearity of the levels and a nice ending to a fight using some tripmines.

Collector's Edition of DNF??!!! It's been leaked and there's been no confirmation yet.

Bust is 5 inches tall and made of Resin.

Re: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER [May 3, 2011]

That actually isn't too bad of a collectors set considering some of the ones we've seen recently

I think the collectors editions lately have been getting out of control, they cost about £80-£100, have maybe one or two decent things and a load of fluff..

Force Unleashed 2 had a USB Dongle... :cuckoo:
Crysis 2 has a Backpack... :cuckoo:
Gran Turismo 5 had a Keyring... :cuckoo:

The only good things a special edition of a game should have is; an art book, Avatar/Dynamic Theme, soundtrack, deluxe box/steelbook, and maybe one bit of DLC.

The collectibles that come with the games are always made of crap materials and feel/look really cheap, i wouldn't be surprised if the Duke bust is hollow plastic.

Let's have a look at a newly announced one....

"inFAMOUS 2 Hero Edition includes:

  1. Exclusive limited edition 8.5″ Cole MacGrath statue
  2. Replica Cole MacGrath sling pack
  3. Super voucher that gives access to in game content
  4. Mini inFAMOUS #1 comic from DC Comics
  5. Official inFAMOUS 2 soundtrack."

So let's Translate shall we...

  1. Will be CHEAPLY MADE
  2. Useless
  3. Held back from the main game
  4. Not even the whole comic
  5. Could be good

So from that upcoming game only one, maybe two things will be worthwhile. but not worth the extra $60 they want for the lot.

Oh yeah, I've got the collectors edition of Killzone 3 Pre-Ordered, it costs five bucks extra, I am getting it for the map pack, SteelBook and Dynamic Theme, so that's reasonable, it also give online unlocks for the first 24 Hours which i don't care either way about.

Re: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER [May 3, 2011]

I ignore these "collector's editions"... most of the time, you can find them in the bargain bin a few months down.

I have grown to know that "limited" means a few hundred thousand for videogames.

Somebody already posted this but I thought I would embed it anyway:

Re: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER [May 3, 2011]

Face sculpt looks a bit off and I was hoping he would come with a weapon other than the pistol. Like the Devastator.

The rest of him looks good. The shoulder joints look cool.

Re: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER [May 3, 2011]

Yeah, I don't like the face at all but the rest looks cool.

Re: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER [May 3, 2011]

Amazon has sold out of the 'Balls of Steel Edition' for PC and 360. :D

Re: DUKE NUKEM FOREVER [May 3, 2011]

Gamestop and EBGames should still have it.
