But on the flip side -
Ebay is screwing sellers on shipping now by trying to get them to make shipping included in the auction price. Why? So they can collect their fee on shipping as well.

Ebay is evil.

Tell the seller:

1) I'll pay only $10 as stated in the auction and provide positive feedback to your account after I receive the item
2) I'll pay $14.50 for YOUR mistake not posting Hawaii as a exception and provide a NEGATIVE feedback to your account after i receive the item
3) I'll report to eBay and buy from someone else.

This happen to me last month where the seller asked for an additional $3 for shipping in a rude manner. I said I'm not going to pay the extra cost and the seller admitted it was his mistake and apologized. So, I just sent the extra $3 because i wanted the seller to understand it was his responsibility and not mine in the first place.

Good luck!

I don't think there is any reason to be antagonistic. The seller's email didn't seem rude to me. Demanding that they honor the original fee and threatening retaliatory feedback if they won't do it isn't going to accomplish much.

Asking them to accept the original fee, and, if that isn't acceptable, then suggesting that the transaction be canceled, seems a more reasonable approach.

I just got my reply from the seller. Don't know if he's pissed or not.

Q-YES MY ADDRESS IS HAWAII. THE AUCTION DID NOT STATE THAT SHIPPING FOR $10.50 IS FOR THE CONT. 48 UNITED STATES. I PURCHASED ALLOT FROM EBAY WHEN STATED FOR UNITED STATES AND MY SHIPPING DID NOT INCREASE BECAUSE I AM FROM HAWAII.

A-GO AHEAD AND PAY 10.50 THEN.

Good, glad it worked out for yah, now lets hope he doesn't spit in your food, LOL! Just jokn I'm sure it will be fine...

Yep, this is a reason when I quote shipping I add the disclaimer w/in the continental US. Personally I agree he had a good reason as it does cost more to ship to Hawaii, but it is on him to specify that as (at least for me) shipping cost is calcuated into how much I will bid.

And point of interest, I tried using the eBay shipping calculator on a set of auctions and it was the biggest headache because of some reason it would not calculate international shipping. So in an attempt to save myself answering a ton of messages about "shipping to Spain" I got even more because there was no shipping info?!?

Even went in an tried to change it, but nothing worked, real pain in the ass :banghead

Actually you can add shipping to Hawaii and Alaska from within Ebay. There is an option to add a surcharge for those areas. There is no excuse for him adding a surcharge after the fact.

I didn't want to start another ebay thread, so I am going to ask it here:

How can I look at my past transactions, the ones longer than 60 days?
I need the transaction number for a pre-order (TDK Batman) from animate_international but I can't figure out how to get it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Funny thing is either the seller has 2 exclusive or has the one I won for sale. Because on my WATCHING list it states this on the bottom
eBay Note: The seller relisted this item.

check your paypal. I think the auction #'s are in the "details" section of each transaction.

Just got my package and almost thought I got screwed because it was shipped with the SS brown box and outside it was labeled 12" Mace Windu. Actual shipping cost was $13.70. Anyways heroheadquarters is a-ok. Did not inspect the figure yet, will do so later.
