WHO'S ED ??

Listen up, young'un, to a tale that began maybe a scant 3 or 4 months ago...

A collector, named customizerwannabe, an active member, certainly, but not one with a prominent profile, seemed to fall into a boatload of cash to spend. Choosing wisely, he started off slow at first, and in no time was steaming along, purchasing all of the high profile, big ticket Marvel items SS had produced. He very publicly announced his purchases. Nay, some would say he boasted of his acquisitions. One thread after another, sometimes two, three, maybe even four times a day he would proclaim another victory, another statue fallen into his harem. Those of us who were there to witness could only marvel at his prowess, his acumen, his velocity, his limitless means. Then out of the dawning, rising like the spawn of mightly Zeus himself, arose a wave of Freaks (including many who have posted earlier in this thread) who started a frenzy among the collectors on this board, especially with certain pieces like the Ironman Comiquette, Doom PF, XMen vs. #1, etc...

And eons passed, and the progenitor nodded and approved and the buying and posting went on. As the "big boat" he stood at the vanguard, face firmly turned toward the future, with the others, the lesser, following in his wake.

And then with an accouncement, nay, a mere utterance, he has turned from that future, literally turned his back on the movement he built almost single-handedly on the force of his charisma. Now that he has literally up and vanished from this line, Collectors and Freaks (and other interested observers) are left wondering, who, who will be the new herald for all things polystone and Marvel. Who, indeed, deign even pick-up that mantle which was tossed so capriciously and carelessly aside? Time will tell, o-noob, only time will tell...

And if ye have time, one day, maybe I can tell you about another legendary Freak, one whose name has passed from memory to legend to beyond, a name that began melvin...

(Soon to be collected and published in, "Tales from the Sideshow Freaks Board")

Hey, I'm changing my title to "Freak's board historian...." :lol

I will continue to buy all sorts of SS stuff, and as hobbies are cyclical in my life, I guesstimate I'll be rebuying(at higher prices) the entire Marvel line in around 23 months.

Movement that he built? I think not.

Do I detect some jealousy? :lol

And I like that idea of customizer coming back. I can add yet another chapter about the hero's quest, he goes out away from the world to learn a lesson, no, to teach us a lesson, and like all journeys he comes back with some kind of prize from his trip, like the ability to use the force or some other ability or token or prize... :lol

Hey Ed how do you set up an Ebay store. is it free? what are the differences than just a normal account?

Uh oh. Now you hurt his feelings.:rotfl :rotfl All I did was make a bit of an ass of myself for a few months, but it was fun!:D
What I should have said was that you were indeed one of the Founders/Instigators of the MARVEL Shop-a-holics movement, but I think Loki, Rory and I, as well as others had a lot to do with it as well. :rock It sure was fun wasn't it!? See you in 23 months Ed!!! :wave
