Educate me on Tivo/DVRs?

Thanks for the input.. just bought a new TV, replacing my loud buzzing 27" CRT TV.. now I think I'll rock out on a Tivo.. Went w/ a 46 inch DLP, couldnt resist the price.

After researching TV's I found I was truly in the dark ages..

I blame the weed.
