That said, I actually prefer the Vader they went with; the concept looks too much like an bug.

When I inquired, the eFX representative said just about two more weeks before they would being shipping. I hope that is right. I also inquired about the base, because I had never seen one so large for a helmet before, and initially they thought I was asking about one of the other helmets. But when they figured out that I did indeed have a McVader on order, they explained that that very large square base was included in the package. There were some other literature things there included as well, not sure exactly what all of it was. This was my first time seeing the McVader in person, and I was astounded. While the ANH versions are spectacular, I love McQuarrie's work, and this will be amazing in my collection. The base will pose problems for me because I'm fairly certain it won't fit inside my Besta shelving unit. I'm likely going to have to work out an alternative stand option and keep the huge base stored away.

So here is my one acceptable picture, the other won't load and I have many that just don't look very good because the thing is very hard to capture in pictures.

My close-up didn't turn out, but I have a shot of the whole helmet from the front and side. I'll get those up this week.

Waller got nice shots! This thing is amazing, but it's going to be a nightmare when it comes to dusting. And finding the display space with that oversized base.

SHIPPING UPDATE! Due to the time it takes to properly paint the helmets, the first 150 pieces are expected to ship from Asia at the end of August. The balance of helmets is scheduled to ship a few weeks later. In order to get the proper finish, our vendor in Asia actually sent the helmets to an auto painting vendor! Each helmet would take 15 days to paint, clear coat and polish.

Hmmm. Makes me think they had problems replicating the look and decided to go the auto painting route.

Yeah I saw that as well. They have been saying the same thing for months. At the SDCC Bryan told me they all were shipping at the end of July. That was only a few day after the Con. Now only 1/2 are shipping in another month? I don't know guys. Something up with EFX. They have nothing but excuses of why things are delayed and why stuff they have shown a few years ago have never been made. Example, the Battle Star Galatica stuff, small Falcon model and the cut away saber hilts. I believe they want this stuff to be made, but I think there are problems that they can't get out of. I will be surprised the Concept helmet ever makes to the US.

I don't doubt the McQuarrie helmet will make it, but I do worry about the rest, especially the ANH helmet and TIE Fighter.
