I'm working on smithing. I've made a bajillion iron daggers. It's not very profitable.

Any tips on how to level enchanting?

This has been boring me too. I have been going to Whiterun and buying all the cheap weapons under 100 Gold from shops. Then I go to the castle and use the enchanter after buying some soul gems from that wizard there. I also have The Black Star for Black Souls.
I enchant the weapon with Absorb Health and and it turns into a 500+ gold resale value (Equip +Barter items). The Enchant skill tree make it possible to eventually have -100 Destruction Magicka cost, which is what I am after. FREE Destruction Magic.

The first Perk of the Enchant Tree is +20%, +40%, etc... for 5 times so every level makes your Enchantment more powerful and more profitable.

Hmmm..I haven't played a regular video game in forever, but this one is interesting...

For each race, is there a whole new set of quests?

The basic game is the same, but it can feel very different depending on what you decide to do. Good/evil, your choice of race, gender, combat style, and so on. Many hours of entertainment, and a super-high MetaCritic rating always helps.

Dayum..is there any point in coming back to it after you have beaten it?

The 'main quest' line is generally 20-25 hours.
You can complete this at any time or not at all. You keep playing after you finish as well.
Because there are the 'guild storylines' - some variation of fighter/mage/thief/assasin - that are 10 or so hours each.
(I'm basing these numbers on previous games....)

And then new for this Elder Scrolls game, there is the civil war storyline....haven't beaten it yet so not sure. I'm guessing about 15 it seems.

And then there are the 200 or so side quests, ranging from simple to quite indepth.

No one really 'beats' an Elder Scrolls game. Even people that claim to have clocked 1000 hours on previous Elder Scrolls don't normally claim to have finished all it has to offer.

The HUGE advantage this has over MMO's is that because its single player offline, the story can make dramatic changes to the world on the fly, both what you physically see and experience, and how the people in the game react to you. That to me is why I enjoy it and IMO is the entire point of video games. If you don't feel your actions make a difference, why play?

MMO's due to their nature have to stay much more static.

Thanks for clearing it up for me, guys. My substantially beefier level 14 character can now topple the standard dragons with ease - not at a shameful difficulty level, either - and even the trolls seem surmountable. I still think they should provide better tutorial info in a game of this size and complexity, to at least let the player know, it's okay to run away sometimes.

BOOYAH! :rock

I guess for Elder Scrolls veterans it all seems user friendly.
Easing players in started with Oblivion.

The older ones like Daggerfall and Morrowind were almost purposely confusing and frustrating at low levels. Without a quest compass helping you, you often didn't even know which direction you were supposed to head in :lol
Morrowind had you having epic long battles at level 1 with a rat you started off so weak :rotfl:rotfl

Alright, now I want it...It would be nice if there was some sort of multiplayer though.

I just hate regular games because I know they will end eventually, although from what you're saying this one seems to be the longest lasting regular game out there..

To use recent games as a reference...

If Arkham City delivers on the ultimate Batman simulation, and Red Dead Redemption manages to deliver the ultimate cowboy experience, Skyrim is essentially the massive fantasy experience. You can explore a vast world, sneaking into a fortress one minute, crafting your own weapons the next, then fending off a dragon high on a mountaintop. Even if you're not a fan of the "fantasy" genre, there is something profoundly beautiful about a game that offers this much scope and freedom.

I'm on PS3 and there are definitely some issues. I went on a binge yesterday and it froze at least 8 times.

My game has only froze 3 times in like 70 hours of gaming. Two times it froze when alot was happening and l used my shout the game froze, but 8 times in one night is way to much. I remember Fallout 3 used to freeze often as well, sometimes 3 times on one night.

Mine is two-handed as well. It just doesn't seem right that the player can initiate a mission, then get the tar kicked out of him until he decides to give up and come back later. I just got the Fire Shout, and I'm hoping that'll help with my next blood dragon encounter.

There's more to this game then hacking and slashing, use poison potions on your swords and magis as well. That's why l hate two handed weapons you can't use magicat the same time. You have to run sometimes when you are a low level. l am level 34 always play on adept and l wipe most people up. I find the Felmar are tuff little bastards and always make me run charge up and face them again.

Everyone is getting tricked into thinking games now a days are only worth trying if there is online muliplayer, online this online that, l actually dont really care for online.

This is not a regular games, regular games are like 20 hours at the most, this game takes at least 100 hours of great quests and more after that if you want and you can do what you want when you want, not a certain path you HAVE to take in every other game. There is a reason these games get game of the Year every time.:lecture

If there ever was a single player only game that is worth purchasing, this is it (or any of the other elder scrolls games for that matter).

The only reason why you won't want to buy this game is if you're afraid of developing a sickly pale complexion due to a lack of exposure to sunlight.
