Alright, I'ma buy it if I can find it for a good price...____ paying 60$ for new games.

I don't own any game systems though, only my laptop...

PC version is awesome, not sure why but it seems only people with the uber latest powerhouse PCs have issues.

So, I know you have to side with the Stormcloaks and start the civil war quests to get the Windhelm house. Is there any way of siding with the imperials and getting the Windhem House? Anyone know?

Do they go more in depth between the two? So far I'm bot sure what the difference is between them. Just that the stormcloaks are rebels and imperials are kingsmen.

They each have their own quest lines where they capture each others city depending on who you join (Solitude if your Stormcloak, or Windhelm if your Imperial) But I read that if you go imperial the quest you have to do in order to get the Windhelm house might not work. So I might wait until after the patch to start the civil war.

Aren't your faction cities reversed?

Completed the College of Winterhold questing. Some awesome spoils to be gained there. Also got my smithing up to 60 by making another excessive amount of iron daggers.

The more I play, the more I wish there could be some online interaction between friends. Not the whole mmo experience, but maybe something like an item trading system.

I think it's quite different from Oblivion but to be honest if you did not enjoy Oblivion, you probably won't enjoy this.

You do need to invest at least 4-5 hours into this before really being able to judge whether you like it or not.

Thinking about getting this one, but liked didnt love the last game. Is this more of the same, or does it have a different enough vibe?

Rent it and if you like it, buy it. Easy a 100 hours of play time. But only if it's your kind of game. I'm taking my time, exploring, hunting, Blacksmithing and tons of small side quest. In no rush to finish the main quest. But that's just my style. Played the last Elder Scrolls Oblivion almost a year.

How long do you guys think it would take to do all the quests (main quests, side quests, civil war quests, faction/guild quests, and miscellaneous favors/quest)? I am about 80 hours in, and judging by the table of contents of the guidebook, I estimate about ~100 more hours (with plenty of hours spent doing housekeeping things, staring at the world, managing inventory, houses, followers, etc.). Obviously, with one playthrough you can't see all the possible outcomes to quests that have multiple resolutions, but I think 200 hours sounds about right. Pretty worth the money in my opinion. I'm not big on replaying games that have set quests and storylines (pretty much all games excluding online FPS or strategy games), since story-line wise you'll see "most" of everything in one slowly paced playthrough. All the other quests are pretty linear, you pretty much cut the quest halfway by killing the NPC, chosing a side, or finish the quest by saving the NPC and playing it through.

I've read that the NPC will aways have quests for you to do so you can play forever and ever.

Hmm...haven't heard that. I thought everything would eventually come to and end, which would be kind of weird as the game doesn't finish when you finish the main quest.

The never ending quests would be things like kill X at [location A] (and the game would respawn the enemies in that location)?

I hope they make epic DLC!

I wasnt a huge fan of oblivion... liked it but didnt love it, now this on the other hands is some of the most fun ive ever had, just a much better game imo, i know they are quite similar but just so many things about this game i enjoy.. definatly even if your not a oblivion fan check this out.
