Elias, Platoon

No I don't know a thing about what Hot Toys has decided to do with the rest of the line of announced figures for Platoon. Someone out there must know something about the Elias figure. I was hoping by now we would have some tid bit of info about it. Looks like HT has left us hanging out there.

Got my Platoon figures beside me right now just admiring the headsculpts again - big disappointment if Hot Toys drops the line and never makes Elias, just one more figure FFS.

Y'know if memory serves some people who didn't buy into this line opted out because of a (justified) fear that HT wouldn't finish it. So its like a vicious circle.

He was planned at one point, but maybe since the line didn't do so well they cancelled him. There was a picture of the Taylor on display and next to him are coming soon pics of Barnes, Lerner and Elias.

I hope not since he's a major character from the film. I don't mind waiting if that means one day we'll get an awesome trio.

You would think with all the HT figs beings produced Elias would be an easy make. He has unique facial features that would make him easier to make and the uniform is a done deal since they already have the nam uniform pattern from the 2 previous figures! I wonder if they're having issues with licensing rights or something? Other than that I don't see why HT would skip this guy! As far as money's concerned I'm sure they'll make a good profit from him since there are plenty of Platoon, military and Dafoe fans out there to make this figure a success!

And thats the point I was making above. People are all too aware of cases like that with HT - more people would have bought Taylor and Barnes if there was a guarantee that Elias would be made.

You know if HTs would just come out and say for sure, without a doubt which figures they WILL make for a line, instead of being so secret about everything then more people may buy into a line knowing they get the core characters. All the speculation makes us all nuts not knowing for sure.

Welcome to the life of collecting Hot Toys...they cancel lines after 1 or 2 figures constantly...

That did not make for an encouraging read......

to be honest the existing two figures are so good I just don't feel a custom Elias head could possibly measure up. So I probably wouldn't bother putting one together. Unless as you say HT make a Green Goblin Dafoe headsculpt.

The only bad thing about using a Green Goblin head is it would need a lot of work to make the sculpt to look a lot younger. Honestly I hope they go with a smiling or grin expression on him where as the Goblin would be a more serious or angry look. If they do end up releasing Elias, I hope the same girl does it. She is honestly one of HTs best IMO.
