'76 was the beginning to the end , whole of '76 was subpar cept last 2 months or so.

8 days later he would celebrate his last birthday

Funny/sad story my mother has. I was born on Aug 16th 77, the exact day of his death. My mother was walking the hall of the delivery wing of the hospital and saw a distraught new mother. Not knowing whether the woman was in angst because her baby was ill or what my mother went to console her. Asked if she was alright the woman replies to my mother, "no! Elvis just died!" Goes to show how much impact he had on some people if they are in tears on what should be one of their happiest days of their life!
