Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

I think like him without the pads also bro, although I love the weathered metallic paint job you did on them :bow

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Totally my opinion but the shoulder pads seem to make his legs look smaller than they actually are, without pads he looks more symmetrical, also would you have bigger knee pads?

edit: Although if you keep the shoulder pads I would go with bigger knee pads in order to keep it more balanced.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Ah man Seb. Blue pants, new gloves, shoulder pads are all major upgrades on an already awesome figure. This is some of your finest work.

So the shield, golden age or round and how are you going to go about making it?

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

The Cap without shoulder pads looks better, IMO.
You made a great job, I think.
So far, I'm not a huge fan of this new costume wearing by the super soldier in the next Captain America movie. :nono

However, you managed to make this costume functional and superheroic.
Just miss the shield. :wink1:

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Thanks guys for all the good input.
I think i like him also without the shoulder pads but like skiman says i think i will go with bigger knee pads.

The round shield is next!

Like me, so far i didn't like much that movie costume but we have to wait and see how it looks in the move but it has that kinda dark knight armour look that i don't like much.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Hmmm... I must be the only one who likes the shoulder pads. I think with bigger knee pads and better boots, the shoulder pads would be balanced.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Anyway, your custom's gonna force us to consider an alternative version to your Captain America.

It remains the classic:

Or the new version:

For my part, I still hesitate...
I think my choice will depend on the C-Phan's one. :wink1:

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

It looks better with the shoulder because the head seems oversize.
Now the problem is probably the body (weird to write that on a Dutch body). It looks small compare to the headsculpt.
It looks awesome from the head to the chest but from the fist/belly it looks undersize.
I don't know what to suggest you. If I had to chose, it would be the head.

Yes I understand but my cheap camera kinda distort the overall look because of the lens.
In hands the head looks just the right size.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Love the metallic weathering on the pads but like it more without. Are you going to paint his boots red?

Can't wait for the shield!!

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Ok decided to keep the pad and added some metal rivet here and there to hold the straps.
Will paint the boots same coulour as the gloves.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

That last shot looks epic! Looks amazing man, really amazing :bow Bigger knee pads you say? Bam, there you have it! I would love to see your stash of "bashing bits" that you pull from :lol I bet it's pretty impressive.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

don't know what you have changed now but it looks really great now with the shoulder pads! :) love the metal-weathering effect!

I add some straps to tie them around the biceps, they fit closer to the shoulder now and the bigger knee pads works better. :peace

That's something I've always wanted to see too. :lol
