Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Never have been a fan of that design put into a figure, yet I prefer the blueish look in comics. Somehow it always looks kind of out of place on a figure in my opinion. Dont know why... :dunno
Nevertheless I look forward to seeing what you come up with. If there is someone out there who can prove me wrong, than it is you. :lol

I'm not sure why you think it isn't working on a figure but to me this look is working the same way as the black and grey is working. :)

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

I cannot point it either. :)

For me the blue costume worked in the comics because there was a black wash added to it almost every time. Further most people tend to keep the black trunks.

The only blue costume I can think off that has looked promising to me was the DCD Classic.

Unfortunatly DCD tends to fail on those figures (of course everything cery subjective). Nevertheless they got the color scheme right. I am sure if someone like you would go back on it, add different gauntlets, body, head and your little magic trick that makes all your figures so efin amazing, this would be a killer piece.

I don't know what you like on the dcd figure better tbh.
I kinda like my blue colour scheme but that's just me :dunno

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

You being happy with it is the most important. Enjoy it, it is a killer piece! :)

I would prefer your figure every day over the DCD. Yet they gave him his blue trunks and a blue/black cowl. Its really just that I am used to the black wash look in the comics that I would really love being translated on a figure... :)

Well i don't think that blue parts on the cowl translate well on a figure.
It's is shadow translated into drawings.
Painting the forehead black is like creating a fake shadow wich to me isn't working.

As for the trunks i'm already working on a blue one.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Yes, most likely you are right about it. It might work on a statue or on na action figure but when it comes to fabric this might throw it of. Never seen it from that side before. You wouldnt paint a blue wash to Robins hair either. :lol
Really looking forward to the finished piece. Hope you didnt get me wrong here. I really love your work and never wanted to annoy you. (pretty sure you got it right but misunderstabdings are so often in the internet)

Amazing Bats Elvis! Really, really awesome man. What body are you using on that? I bet you're really excited about the new muscle True Types huh?

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Love the Bats, but I think what's throwing it off a bit for me is the headsize. I'm used to the slightly pinheaded comic book physique, and this head makes the body seem a bit small.

Yes i know it's motsly due to lens deformation and also that eric's head is a bit on the big size.

I didn't wanted to go with a more muscular body that this one but even on a barney ross body the head is a bit too big.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

Wow man... that is very nice looking. He looks so clean and well put together. What did you do to the legs to get such a seamless look?

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work and kitbash

THanks Joey, i used the advanced thigh implants and sculpted the lower parts of the leg to be more balanced.
