Re: ELVIS1976 custom work (Marvel, DC, Horror, Movies) - CABLE - CYCLOPS

haha didn't thought about Marv.
The head is from the Icons Captain A figure.
I liked it becasue it show a though battle hardened cap.

Boots are made by New Line, best 1/6 scale leather boots.

Thanks for the info. They really do look great. There don't seem to be a lot on ebay at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out for them.

Hey Seb is that the Capt. Action suit on Cap?

Yes it is, but the quality is really cheap.
I fit the ttm19 really tightly.
It doesn't fit on any bigger bodies.

Next one in my classic X-MEN figure is gonna be COLOSSUS.

Here's a first WIP pics to give you a quick idea on how he should look.
Suit is currently being worked out by my friend Tony Meis.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work (Marvel, DC, Horror, Movies) - COLOSSUS

Looking good. Like the chrome paint on the body. Is that the ACI muscular body?

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work (Marvel, DC, Horror, Movies) - COLOSSUS

Really nice start :rock

Thanks man, I don't know if I can call that a start because all that is really left is the suit basically.

I wanted to make the line on the body but after some tries on other bodies, it didn't come really nice and not as sharp as I would have wanted.

So I decided to leave it like that.

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work (Marvel, DC, Horror, Movies) - COLOSSUS

Very nice! How did you chrome the body?

Well it was pretty much a pain in the ***.

First I dye the body (yes clothing dye) in black.
So I had a good base to work with. I then painted it in different shades of silver and then put a last layer of chrome paint.

Sounds like a Silver Surfer custom wouldn't be all that difficult then! :rock

Re: ELVIS1976 custom work (Marvel, DC, Horror, Movies) - COLOSSUS

Thanks Seb. So, there is chrome paint you can use a paintbrush with? I thought all chrome paints were spray or airbrush. What was the black underlayer for, to help the silver paint to stick?

Well no the chrome paint was spray can.
But i just put a light layer on it.
The dye on the body is actually use to make the body all black without using paint, it also helps to remove any finishing applied on the plastic and help the paint not to be sticky.
Especially metallic.
I didn't want him to be super chromed but more of a really shiny silver with some nice black depth.

Seb do you think this would stick to the body well? Or would it leave it sticky.

I don't know I never experienced car paint.
I'm using the spray can form Tamiya.

But be carefull if the body is not threaten right the paint will always be sticky.
