Hey guys,

Duane. . . .love the Gonks. Obviously this is WIP, but wanted to share. These are so much fun and way more substantial in 6th scale size than you might expect. Are we starting a "sandcrawler line" now? I vote treadwell for the next one

Here is another angle. My first real post of anything I have done. Was going for Gonk inside sandcrawler look. Still need to get my "E", some weathering, along with the power cables.

That's awesome Rob! Very,very nice start-he's looking great. Very cool too that you're going for the likeness of the sand crawler gonk.

I started working more on mine yesterday. I was going for a color scheme inspired by the original kenner version but with an overall less toy-ish look.This is the most recent pic taken, But he's been quite "distressed" since....very banged up & grimy looking now. I'll get a current pic up later today. He'll being looking as if he's been a permanent residence of the Jawa garage when all said & done.

Loving your Kenner version. Bringing me back to my youth. I think that version may have originally been inspired by the one in Aunt Beru's yard (when she calls after Luke). I have never paid so much attention the Gonks before (I am also working on a life sized one to go along with the other Cantina stuff I sent you the pic of). Thinking I am either going to do a Hoth Gonk for my 2nd one. .. . Or most likely the tortured Gonk in Jabba's palace (so are EV9D9 and 8D8 on the way ) that would be pretty amazing. Man, you could pick up 5 or 6 of these and still have plenty of uses for them.. . .

I know the exact scene & gonk you speak of....& totally agree. I have a pic somewhere.

Oh I know.That's the beauty of gonks...or any other droid in the SW universe...there's not just one. If you think about it,the same goes for the aliens. Different ones in different scenes & settings,each with their own identity.
I have several ideas for other gonks down the pipeline. I'm thinking the next will be of the Imperial persuasion

...was able to make some free time to mess with my gonk this afternoon(....damn that doesn't sound right!) Calling this one done. Pics coming very soon.

Incredible. Yeah "mess with your Gonk" sounds all sorts of wrong. . . . But the results. . . All sorts of right. I think "gotta get a Gonk" is something we'll be hearing a lot on this forum. Thanks for the amazing sculpt Duane - Gonk revolution.

Love your work on the Gonk, Duane! Always dug how he's much less streamlined and rounded than all the other droids. The lightup eye is awesome, btw!

It is not exactly Nabrun Leids. This is more of a Nabrun Leids version 2.tdp

When you showed me the WIP pic I & told me you were doing something a little different I was thinking-Cool,can't wait to see. I admit I was concerned about the element of surprise created being lost when you unveil a freshly completed custom but that thought has been long forgotten! But THIS......I wasn't expecting to see this!

The bracers & boots were an excellent choice in the creative liberties made. Very spacey,intergalactic vibe they add.
...& those eyes...Incredible! I know of 1 production pic that shows the eyes through the lenses of the mask....I can only imagine you might have seen the same picture

....blown away I tell you.

i would only say "wow" on here..but you have to have at least ten letters...so that's why im filling it up a bit...but seriously...WOW...that is really cool..now...if he only needed a flight vest...hmmmm....lol..j/k...im seriously impressed and inspired from all of these kick butt aliens that everyone is doing...as soon as i get my duros hands...i'll have one to do..woot!!
