Well, SS can't help if someone does or doesn't collect stuff other than SW. It's meant as a goodwill gesture I'm sure to say thanks for buying all 3. Any
gift card is the same its just that SS stuff is so popular.
I respect your opinion, jlcmsu, but I feel that you are somewhat misguided. I am speaking in a broad, general sense. I like other lines besides Star Wars. I can hopefully apply the card to the purchase of a regular edition terminator figure if I choose to buy the 3 Endor Rebels. However, I consider most people that are interested in the Combo Deal to be hardcore Star Wars collectors, many of whom only collect Star Wars stuff. I think that I bring up a valid point that a large majority of those collectors will be left out in the cold with the
gift card if they can't apply it to pre-order purchases. If I get a
gift card for Target, I can use it whenever I want for anything that I see at Target when I'm there and they don't sell out their stock before it hits the floor. Sideshow's Priority Pre-Order program makes this impossible for their items that are most desireable to customers. I know that Sideshow didn't have to offer anything to it's customers, but they must have felt that they had to do something by providing this offer to customers.
To me it doesn't seem to be much of a combo deal because that usually means you get a certain percentage off of the price. For example, if I purchase one figure out of a set at Cornerstorecomics I have to pay a higher price, and if I buy the whole set I recieve a certain percentage of the price. All I am saying is that I understand why people might not be all that happy with the
gift card situation, and I don't think they should be called ungrateful or disrespectful to Sideshow because they have an opinion about the Combo Deal. You're entitled to your opinion about the deal and how great it is, and they are entitled to their opinion and how much they don't like it.
