With HCG/Toynami/XFX busts, it's a luck of draw..however, teeth look a lot more realistic, then on any of the SS Endoskulls..Those extremely oversized lower teeth just look bad.
With that said, friend of mine replaced the teeth on his HCG Endoskull with real denture teeth, and it looks incomparable better, however it's a really hard customization, and it will ruin the Endoskull in some ways!

Got any pics of that? Would really love to see how that looks!

Hey Toni how are you? As for the lower teeth being oversize if you incorporate a GUM line I feel they are actually more accurate in size. Here is an example photo I found on the net of what I am talking about . Notice how long the lower teeth actually are once you remove the GUM line: Mike
Hey Mike, doing quite fine, thanks for asking ;) Life is a bit busy at the moment, some changes at work, so it's affecting my sanity a bit :p
How are you doing?

About the teeth "thing", yeah, I see your point, but I'm actually talking about teeth as they looked on screen..on the skull used in the movie.
Maybe SW artis/s who worked on the Endoskull aimed to make teeth closer to human skull, but that simply isn't the case with the screen used skull!

It's been confirmed that SS Endoskull is "idealized" version of the Endoskull, revorked and newly sculpted, while HCG/Toynami/XFX is molded from the skull used in T2. It's simply matter of personal taste and preference. It's a fact that overall, SS is considered to be better and superior to HCG, while I personally still prefer HCG, and enjoy it much more.

Guys different strokes for different folks.

There must be some reason why SS chose to use the HCG endoskull on their 1:1 piece isn't it?

Having owned both before, I gotta say that while the SS endoskull is awesome, I still prefer the HCG one.

Just my 2 cents.
The reason SS use HCG skull on their lifesize replica is because they took over license (including molds and everything) from LFS, and it is a logical thing to keep skull molded from screen used Endo in pack with rest of the body :p
While SS Endoskull was made in cooperation with Stan Winston Studio, and is a different piece!

But as you say, different strokes for different folks.

Got any pics of that? Would really love to see how that looks!
Unfortunately, pictures were never posted publicaly anywhere, so I wouldn't feel comfortable posting them.
Endoskull in question was not in perfect condition (I'm guessing it was easier to make decision to do such a heavy custom), however, skull wasn't additionally damaged during the custom, and it really adds to the overal feel of the skull when you look at it. It looks a lot more alive!

I agree with Toni here, he knows his business when talking about Endo skulls ;) I own both SS combat and HCG clean and they are awesome. The SS might be more menacing but the HCG is more movie accurate. The SS has a cheap looking name plate the HCG has the weird music tones. In conclusion if having money try getting both.

did Stan Winston studios work on the sideshow endoskull? I read sometime back someone saying they didn't because the skull is not screen accurate and they just slapped their name on it. was that fact or fiction?

Hey jkno, thanks for kind words :)
I've spent a lot of time researching about everything Terminator related, especially Endoskulls, as it's my passion!

This is exactly what I say, while HCG is more accurate, SS has more "presence". It all comes down to ones preference. (personaly, I don't mind sound effects on HCG, nor would I mind simple "cheepish" nameplate on SS)

It is without the question, that if money is not an issue, getting both would be the way to go!

I am glad we have a few choices when it comes to ENDOSKULLS so people can chose which they prefer. For me its the SS versions as and I tend to lean toward what comes out of STAN WINSTON STUDIOS.
I see your point..I actually kinda like that SS version of the Endoskull is preferred one, don't know why.

Yeah, SWS actually worked on SS Endoskull, however, skull isn't screen accurate, to be more precise, teeth as well as CPU port and CPU are different from what is seen in the movie.
(none of the screen used skulls actually had CPU port that could be open). CPU port (as well as CPU) on the SS skull is oversized.

The whole SS skull is based on the opening scene (skull in flames), and I'm guessing, is meant to be idealized representation of the Endoskull, rather then replica molded from screen used skull.

And to actually contribute to the thread (and not only act smartass), here are two photos of my HCG Endoskull.

I'm hoping to get Battle Damaged version as well, to add to this one.
Funny how with SS skulls, clean one is a lot harder to find, while with HCG skulls it's other way around, BD are way more rare.

Nice pics Toni. Here are my SIDESHOW ENDOBUSTS:

I know your collection very well Mike, you know how to display your pieces! Looking awesome!
But even with skulls there, I'm pretty drawn to that Sarah's knife display! Exceptional work on that piece!

Just Checked out your Terminators Endo-Hunter, this is EXACTLY my dream Terminator collection right there.
Sadly I have none of these and only hope to eventually get the skull :( But Props on a kick-bum collection and the cabinet is sleek as well.

Thanks man. I still have all those pieces but that is an older pic. I moved things around since then. The ENDOARM is in a different cabinet now. Here is an updated pic of that particular cabinet:

I love all this Endo talk!
One day I'll have to show off my collection.
The thing with the HCG endoskull is that they could have presented it better. If they spent a bit more time on it, add better teeth adjust the angle of the head and fix those eye socket clips it would be the s#*t!

Thanks buddy. You have some very nice pieces yourself. :rock
Thanks a lot, but compared to some, it's really nothing. Living in Croatia really sucks if you're onto any kind of collecting, because any piece I might find that I like, almost cost double to get here in shipping and customs fees. So I find myself reading and researching about Terminator a lot more then actually collecting.
However I do have goal, making a really nice and classy Terminator/theater room once I get my own place (here's hoping it'll happen soon).

I do have something really nice and unique in works right now, and I'll post pictures as soon as it's completed. it might take some more time, but I'm pretty sure Terminator fans will love it.

Why not do it right now :)

Teeth are a weak spot on HCG, yeah, but what do you mean about the ball bearings (eye socket clips)?
Also, I prefer head in straight position (like Icons and HCG) rather then tilted (like SS). But it would be cool if they made these busts with adjustable head..only a bit of left and right and up and down, it would allow collectors to display 'em in a desired way!
