Do you even understand what the WC is? Croatia has 4 million people and has made it to the ****ing finals of the world's most popular sport, that alone is reason enough to ask for a month off work if you are Croatian.

You obviously don't watch the games. Otherwise, you'd see the resolve this Croatian team has. 3 straight games of XT (2 of them shootouts) and 3 straight wins. There's no quit in Croatia.

I tip my hat to you sir. As a Croat, I can't tell you enough just how proud we are of this team. A country of 4 million people able to have their team go to the WC Final....sheer jubilation. I just pray the team has enough in them for Sunday. France will have a lot of rest.

Worst WC final matchup ever
It was far from the worst ever. Croatia were unlucky to be behind at half time, having scored the only goal from open play. France showed they were a class apart in the second half. Croatia gave a good showing - definitely better than Brazil managed 20 years ago.
France played very dirty in the first half, penalty deserving for sure. And yet... Their first goal was Croats own fault, and the second one's a very questionable penalty (he was standing there watchin' repeats for several freakin' minutes). Of course after that Croats were desparate and lost. At least they scored second goal.
I'm 100% against dirty football, especially in events like this one. Whoever plays like French forwards did yesterday should be kicked out of the sport.

That penalty was questionable, but agreed that the French team are top class. Croatia gave it all it had, but was not enough. The French didn't need to play pretty, they are just very effective at counterattacks.
Still, for a country of 4 mill, Croatia did something that many nations could only dream of, and they should feel damn proud of what they accomplished yesterday.
