Since we are talking about asian actresses I would personally like to have a Lucy Liu... :yess:

O-Ren Ishii from KB would be AWESOME :rock :hi5:

No interest in this, but it's good that Enterbay is, once again, trying to find a niche that does not intersect with Hot Toys' interests.

I expect that Hot Toys will announce a similar focus next week or so.

Seems obvious EB is going after the fashion doll market. Those collectors pay out the *** for those figures, and most all of them look like Tonner Dolls, just very simple sculpts, and paintwork varies wildly, some are like Bratz, some are like BJDs.

Sorry, not at all. The fashion doll market is trying to appeal to traditional doll collectors, who are primarily women. I collect both Tonner dolls and realistic 1:6 figures, so I am in a decent position to judge the difference. This Enterbay announcement just left me scoffing at their in decision, so if their goal is to reach out to that market — fail.

On top of that you have real women already coming in here and weighing in outright telling you owning one of these is going to be detrimental to your chances of getting a real woman.

:lecture Not just real women, but real women who already like and respect collecting toys/pop culture items in general (or else we would not be here). Some women would freak out about a grown man buying a Darth Vader, let alone sexy-sexy nurse-like female.

Another great post :exactly: :goodpost: :goodpost:

:exactly::goodpost: 100% agree on this....this is nothing like a Tonner doll. cannot compare this at all...I think the Girlfriend is creepy as heck, and i wouldnt go anywhere near this...

:exactly::goodpost:

I agree. If they want to create a Selene figure from Underworld, then I can see promise for this line. But making a figure from a no-name woman dressed up in a nurses uniform (a fantasy one at that), just screams creepy. I sincerely hope Enterbay rethinks this line, and produces iconic women from film/comics.

Hot Toys needs to bring the competition to Enterbay with a line of high-class escort dolls. Starting with that chick who with Eliot Spitzer several years ago.

Usually folks who have no interest in a line declare their lack of interest in a single post and move on, vacating the thread for the fans or casual observers to discuss and consider. Not in this thread. Like a scrape of dog poo that has attached itself to the serrated undersole of a shoe, the puritans and sanctimonious windbags just won't remove themselves from the scene. They are the pro-life abortion clinic picketers of this board, proclaiming that their personal moral code and ethical framework is the standard to which all must abide or else be castigated as 'creepy' or 'sexist' or 'perverted'. God forbid that a collector may frame their interest in this line according to their own taste and sensibilities rather than on the opinions of self-styled guardians of normalcy.

On the basis of what has been revealed so far, I have no particular interest in this line outside of the possibility that Bulma will finally see the light of day. And for my passing interest and participation in this thread I have to accommodate the holier-than-thou cadswallop served up by the Band Camp brigade. I couldn't give two tosses whether this line is called 'Dollies to *** over when you favourite **** site is down' - if it's a nice figure, I'll buy it. And if they release a Superbowl version of Janet Jackson, ooh baby, the *******, THE ******* :drool

The name of the line is what is wierd to me. I hope they will make American actresss in the future. This first release is really focused for the Asian fans. This actress is famous in Aisa, but not to us.

They could probably get the likeness rights from Lucy Liu since she does Lifetime movies now. :lol :(

Emmy Rossum is asian? :dunno

If you don't like this line or find it bizarre, fine. You've had your say and have been asked to keep this thread on track once before.

There are plenty of other threads here to join in and share your opinions.

Move along. :wave

If I read correctly, isn't the "nurse, Annie Lau" figure the first in the line?? Which is a asian actress. Bulma has nothing to do as a first release.:wave

Bulma will be part part of this line, but not the first. It seems a lot of people were complaining that the first release being a "I don't know who she is" figure. My comment was to let people know that of course the first figure will be catering to the people from asia. It must be a wanted figure, or at least a popular Person on thier side of the world. I'm not bashing this thread, and honestly I'm happy that us collectors will get a chance of having EB making a figure line of quality female sculpts for us to kit bash or enjoy the original product.
