I'd buy a new one. They aren't that expensive anymore.

What? The lowest price I can find online is $1400 for the current stainless flat model (the replacement for the model I have). I might be able to get it for $1200-1300 here at the local place I bought mine from. Still a lot more expensive than repairing the controller board for $92. ;)

The kicker with all this repair work this week is that I'm also in the middle of a really nasty cold - wicked sinus pressure/pain, whole head foggy and coughing something fierce. It's on the way out, but I don't expect the symptoms to be gone until next week.

Well, I've never paid that much for one, but stainless steel ones are more expensive.

The one I have has a small leak in it and I'll probably just replace it. I've had it though for around 15 years so it's due. I always buy Whirlpool or Kenmore because the plant is in the next town and I want to support it. It will probably cost around $400 or less to replace it.

Hope you feel better soon. :)

It's actually two dish washers, top and bottom drawers in one unit, completely unlike any other brand's machines. F&P do or did also make them for Kenmore and Kitchenaid at one time, not sure if those models are still around. I don't think I'd ever go back to a traditional front-loading dishwasher again, the drawers are just so convenient.

As long as it get the dishes clean, I'm happy. Just like with washing machines. I don't care how fancy it is as long as it gets the clothes clean. I would never pay out for a set of those big, front loading monsters that everyone seems to want. Nah, just get my clothes clean, thanks. :lol

Carbon brushes arrived from UK this afternoon. Took only a few minutes to fit them and then a few more to re-fit the motor and drive belt. Tested on spin and she's running like a champ again. Few! Time to do some laundry!
