I did tonight. futzed around for over an hour for one simple task (took a good 2.5+ hours total) while trying to get the Lost predator netting over his calf without breaking the netting and kept having to start over because it kept getting caught on the second part of the knee. Finally, I went out into the garage and broke something and I felt much better. Funny thing is, afterwards, I got the netting on just fine. Poor table, no GoodWill for you.

I almost went completely *expletive* mental trying to assemble the Hot Toys Dog Alien. The leg was almost impossible to attach. You hear of having to use brute force to assemble things but that just took the p*$$. I had to roll the rubber off the leg in order to reveal the socket enough to see what I was doing. All the sheen rubbed off by the end of it and my hands and arms were killing me. I wanted to rip the figure to pieces and stamp it into oblivion. Thankfully I didn't and now I have an....underwhelming figure that doesn't really look like the thing its based on anyway!

it's therapy for me... :D

i get frustrated sometimes, but usually i just try enjoying the process as much as i can cos the end result always makes me happy. i set aside 3 hours so i can concentrate, cos i absolutely hate leaving it halfway.

and i smoke... so i like giving myself excuses to take a break with a puff

I've built 3 in the past month, All without a hitch, but for some reason this one proved Extremely difficult. I wish I had something to smoke before I took it out on the table.

I like this thread. It's a thread you're actually supposed to complain in. That's awesome. I just wish I had something fresh to complain about.:(

just buy your ht figures already assembled and you won't have those problems.
it's far cheaper and totally hassle/assembly-free. did wonders for my collection.
mint-in-box toys are for suckers.

now you know why I keep these figures in their boxes
because you like boxes? you could always sell the figures in them and keep the boxes.
they're mostly kits anyway. it's not like you get to look at the actual figures in the box.

Yeah, the netting is a pain sometimes. One thing I never liked was after putting the netting on, whenever I would put the knee and shin guards, the netting would ride up. I started simply taping them down to the ankle prior to adding the armor and that worked out great.

I bet if I broke something though (in the garage), I would have had less problems!

I definitely had some issues early on with putting them together, but now I miss doing them. When P1 came all assembled, a small part of me was sad.

Sadly I quit smoking, which was a shame as it was a fun pass time, and very, very enjoyable!
But I'm with you on the constructing toys bit, I approach every figure thinking it will be tough, and look upon the whole build as part of the 'fun' that I get outa the figure. After spending the amounts we do on these things, the least you can do is sit back and take your time to carefully built them properly... however there have been a few moments when I have bitten my lip.
Putting all the webbing straps on the 75th Ranger was one, and putting the helmet + mic on the Blues and Royals Tank Commander was another.
The Preds have always had their own unique challenges, but so far I've been lucky, no major probs or breakages. I did however find doing up the clasp on Sheva's shotgun holder pretty vexing recently... put patience, a toothpick and a hairdryer saved the day!
And how much fun are those tiny safety pins with the DX Joker, I'm sure many of you have that particular pleasure to look forward to!

I remember cursing up a storm while getting the waist armor/loincloth on my P2 Predator and still ended up breaking the tab off the back of it that holds it together :lol

Luckily I haven't had any major problems with my preds, and still haven't had chance to build up any human characters. My alien's feet though are driving me nuts!

My Dog Alien popped together rather easily. John Connor was a bit of a pain in the ass, with all his little gear.

I rememer Machiko was a pain in the behind because of the tiny little darts that you were supposed to hang on her hip armor. That frustrated the crap out of me.

that's weird because the Lost Predator is by far the easiest to assemble...

it has the least accessories, netting that doesn't cover the whole body, and none of those wires around the helmet

putting the things on the legs of the elder predator 2 was the hardest so far

I kind of miss having to build them up. Probably built my last one with the Lost Pred.

And the tip as always "A blowdryer is your best friend"
