It's a pretty cool flick, I was very surprised to learn there was a Frazetta cartoon out in the world. If you have Netflix it's on streaming.

Checked it out last night. Pretty racy for '83. Was interesting to see though. I never knew about Frazetta and Bakshi making a flick together.

Cool, yeah... it's a very odd combo; so when I ran across it on Netflix I had to check it out.

Story is pretty straight forward, and nothing earth shattering. But I really liked the use of rotoscoping in the animation; it made for a nice flow in how the characters moved. Yet still held onto the look of traditional animation.

The animation definitely owns the filmation crap that was all the rage at the time. I've really grown to hate filmation animation though.

Whats really funny to me though is its quite apparent why Disney didn't really know what to do with themselves around the time this came out. The whole game was changing.

Agreed... I actually read up a bit on that after seeing the film. I think this is a great use of rotoscoping as it's balanced well with the action and traditional animation, whereas I find it's use in The Lord of the Rings unwatchable

the scream doll isnt the greatest but its pretty good considering the lack of large figures going around
