Glad to be of help Alice, the more I look at this figure the more I like it. In some ways I actually like that I have it facing sideways, it's not a bad view for it. Not having the cape I can't say that I would definitely display without it, but I can certainly say that it looks wonderful even without the cape. I don't think you will be at all disappointed not having the cape Mini-Rock.

I took the measurements which came out to Height: 22.5" this is from the shelf to the tip of the back left hand saber (the blue one if you put the blades in as depicted on the box), I measured the width from the back right hand (holding the green lightsaber) and used the the bottom of the lightsaber handle that is in GG's left hand (green) these two seemed to be the farthest (furthest?) apart and got 18". The depth I measure from the front of the base to the tip of the back left hand saber (blue) and 22".

I feel pretty confident that these measurements are accurate, however since they are on different height levels and not parallel it was impossible to simply measure from one point to the next, so I had to use the measuring tape to measure from the point of measurement to the shelf and I made a mark on the shelf and measured the distance between my two marks. Like I said I feel confident, but I would advise anybody to wait to order a case just to be on the safe side. I would just feel really bad if I screwed the pooch during my measurements and someone case is too small. If you add two or three inches to each side it would fit because I can't possibly see myself being off by more than that, but if you are very particular about how much excess room there is it'd certainly be best to wait.

Sorry I'm not more confident, its just like I said, I'd just hate for someone to use my measurements and it mess up their display...

Thanks for doing that Agent. 22" doesn't seem very tall at all. Vader is about 22" tall from foot to the top of the helmet, and the saber adds about another inch and a half. I thought for sure that the saber in the upper left hand (Grievous facing forward, and looking directly at him) was higher than Vader's helmet. Are you sure about the height? Yeah, I'm not worried about the cape. Like I said, I know it'll look amazing with and without it. For me, it's an unnecessary accessory that in no way will reduce the greatness of this piece without it judging from the pics I've seen. The exclusive will be easy enough to get if I change my mind also; although, I don't see that happening.

Regarding the expensive acrylic cases, I agree with carbo. If funds are an issue, try to get the best bang for the buck; but, at the same time, make sure you are getting a quality cabinet that is completely sealed. Most cabinets aren't unless you are looking at cabinets that run well over a grand. It's worth it, though, to make sure the cabinet, or case, is completely sealed to protect your collectible as much as possible. :)

I measured again, and my mom measured and we both got 22.5", the lightsaber is above Vader's head, which I measured at 21.5", and I swiveled GG around so his blade is right next to Vaders and it wasn't as tall as Vader's blade, so as far as height is concerned getting on the same height as Vader's would be just fine.

BTW, a little warning, dunno if I mentioned it or not, the lightsaber blade that is in Grievous' front left hand (green on the picture, the one that's sorta pointing down) falls out really easily, at least mine does. It's fallen out a couple times before, now its fallen off and rolled behind the vanity. :cuss

I can't thank you enough for doing that man. Sucks about the blade though. Maybe a small piece of double sided tape will help. :)

Well if you're measuring GG at 22" deep, I'm screwed. I know have no idea where I'm going to put him. Should be interesting moving everything around next weekend.

Damn! I'm busted! :monkey3

EDIT: Also, just ordered a 20"w X 24"d X 25"h case for the General. Thanks Agent for the measurement. :D

I sympathize, I have mine sitting sideways, and he'll have to stay that way because I don't have anything that deep that he can sit on. Good luck finding a spot.

,...same situation here,...need to find space,...no case for me,...it's not needed on this figure,...dust can and that's it,... :chew :chew :chew

Slightly off topic, but in regards to using a "dust can" that only works on surface dust. It takes much more than that to remove dust that quickly binds to the surface. The damage alters the surface chemically (changing its appearance) and is irreversible. So, yeah, something is definitely needed. ;) :chew

Edit: Not to mention, a nice cabinet or case makes for a great display and better presentation. :)

,..not true,...I have statues that are 15 year old,.. in the open,.. getting dirt and they have the same color and texture as day one,....
now if you have high humidity, direct sun and dust,..then there's another story,...dust alone doesn't damage the statue finish,.,.. my uncle used to work in a museum where no sunlight or high humidity were allowed,..but they never had a problem with dust,..... and he can testify about that,...:chew :chew :chew

,...cases r cool and makes the figures looking nice,...but i prefer to save my money and buy more stuff,..!! :D :D :D

Actually, dust alone doesn't need high humidity or direct sunlight, dust mites do. Regular household dust, on the other hand, only needs to land on an object to have an effect. Sadly, spraying a little tetrafluorethane around won't combat dust that has bound itself to an object. But, hey, that is completely off topic. I only mention it since a "dust can" was listed as a source for dealing with dust.

Peace! :peace

,...sure,..off topic,... :lol ,...but intersting topic,.. would like to know someday how many people keep their collectibles protected,... from what i've seen,.. the big majority still keeps their statues in the open,...

I'd love to have enclosed display cases or single ones like what MR uses. I can't afford them and collect at the same time.:lol

I'm OCD with dusting, I dust once a week, I just hope its enough...at least until I can get a cabinet or something.
